Who do you like in terms of personality and wrestling style?

I nominate Shayne Van Ness.  Always respectful, never chippy.  Love his bow to the crowd after each win.  Really hope he breaks through at NCAAs this year. His matches are always exciting to watch.

Brock Hardy comes to mind.  I'm not a Nebraska guy but Brock is good, wrestles hard, scrambly, fun to watch, respectful, and complimentary to his opponents.  I don't know him personally at all but seems like a class act.

There are too many to name only a few.  Saw the special on Danny Pucino before the telecast.  It was inspiring.  After listening to a post match interview with Zan Fugitt, I kept wondering why any of 3 of my 5 daughters couldn't marry a guy like that.  He's graduated now, but David Carr always struck a chord.

I'm sure there are plenty of others.  I watch and notice.  I always remember Barry Sanders just handing the ball to the official after some dazzling TD run.  Some guys are the same win or lose, like SVN.

Then there's the UNC guy that kept trying to injure his opponents until Nickerson finally had to dismiss him.

Dispassionate Penn State grad and fan.

I've never heard anyone have something bad to say about Brock Hardy.  Just an all-around good dude.  Every time the media asks Mendez about facing Hardy, he (Mendez) says that it's tough to "flip the switch" because Brock is such a nice guy.

To stay with the Nebraska theme, I acknowledge that there are some people who don't like the way he wrestles, and that's fair, but if you know Antrell Taylor's story and what he's had to overcome, it makes him pretty tough to cheer against.

SVN is great. I also like the way Jax Forrest comes across in interviews. My all time favorite though is Ray Brinzer.

MM is probably my current favorite

Some that come to mind:

Jax Forrest

Drake Ayala

Kyler Larkin

Brock Hardy

Sergio Vega

Brandon Cannon

Kaleb Larkin

Mikey Caliendo

Ryder Downey

Cam Steed

Patrick Kennedy

Aeoden Sinclair

Nick Feldman

Aeoden Sinclair really impressed me during his interview with Bader.  Great competitor and really analytical mind.

My homer answer is both Max and Vance Vombaur.  Max is just a hammer and represents the program so well as a MN guy. Vance seems like he’s having so much fun out there and earns his Hurricane nickname.  Two great Gopher ambassadors.

both Larkin brothers seem like they're actually too cool to be on the wrestling team. Kaleb looks like he wins at Big 12 title, strolls off the mat and reads some Henry Miller. I love these dudes.

Being a Northern Iowa fan Keckeisen is one of my homer picks (I know he’s not currently in college). Nice down to earth kid. My 9 year old daughter has to get a picture with him every time she sees him. Her phone screen saver is a picture with them together 😂

My lasting memory of Keckeisen is from a few years ago when Trey Munoz blew out his knee against him in the semifinals.  Keckeisen recognized what happened and basically played patty-cake to run out the 3rd period clock.  Let Munoz go out finishing the match and not injury defaulting out of the match (he did default out of the tourney after); didn't attack/embarrass/hurt Munoz any further.  He could have easily picked on a gimpy leg and racked up a bonus point win but didn't.  Class act

Without doxxing myself, I have had a front row seat to Parker's greatness since, well, before he was great.  I would write all about him, too, but he's not in college anymore.  This scenario at NCAA's was memorable for another reason: Jordan Burroughs was on the mic and let's just say he didn't share Parker's perspective that you shouldn't try to "finish" an injured opponent.  JB said something similar re: a match with Starocci (that he would target an injury to end the match), and while I respect all that he's done, he kind of came off as a psycho (which is probably part of his success, TBH).
