For the first time in his life he has a legitimate  coach who is focused on trail blazing offense.

dod he have more bonus victories at big 10s than he had singlet pulls?

did he have more takedowns at big(s) than singlet pulls?

The obsession continues.

One of you said he was an offensive juggernaut because of his new set of legitimate coaches.   I don’t remember which blue glasses dude it was.  Maybe you.  Maybe someone else.

I’m just asking for clarification on the offensive prowess he has.  It surely showed at big 10s.

I don’t understand him honestly. He is so explosive offensively, when he commits to a shot. His Semi matchup is where I saw it. But he’s so passive. Although he won, he should’ve been more aggressive against the Minny guy who isn’t known for his defense as much as his offense.

The same exact thing can be said about Marcus Blaze.

Very true. Just weird.

The high crotch Blaze hit on Ayala to win it was a thing of beauty.  And yet it's like the 2nd high crotch he's attempted all season.  So weird that he doesn't use it more.

Max has elite re-attacks - you just don't see it as much because every opponent is doing what they can to take him to ride-outs.

what happened to Max?  I feel he was much more aggressive last year and was tech falling everyone.

I think under Cael and team we see more offense from Blaze next season. I believe management had something to do with PJ Dukes nitro induced performance lately.

I’m pretty sure Max hasn’t given up a full hand’s worth of takedowns in his career. I know he’s seen as aggressive because he techs everyone below his caliber, but he’s only given up takedowns to Starocci, Keck, and Sinclair to my knowledge. His defense is really solid because of his style of staying at a distance and stinging guys

Honestly, I think his productivity is very similar to last year.  The only wins that haven't been bonus were against Fishback, Gabe, and Chris Moore.  All of those guys were wrestling VERY conservatively to limit Max's offensive capabilities.  I just think these guys are trying to push the match to ride-outs when possible with him.

During 2024 he had 15 one or zero takedown matches out of 28, 53.6%.

During 2026 (not counting matches with Ferrari or McEnelly) he had 23.5% of his matches with one or zero TDs.

During 2026 (not counting matches with Ferrari or Welsh) McEnelly had 25.0% of his matches with one or zero TDs.

During 2026 (not counting matches with McEnelly or Welsh) Ferrari had 80% of his matches with one or zero TDs.

You are absolutely correct.  He has significantly increased offense.

He has 4 bonus victories in Big 10 this year.

Outside of his match with Ferrari, he has averaged 13.2 points per match.  This excludes his pin against Maryland.

Now, you do Ferarri and McEnelly.

McEnelly averaged 11.9 against Big 10 opponents.  I excluded national duals to make it comparable.

Ferrari only had 2 Big 10 duals when you exclude Welsh dual.  He averaged 11.5 in those two duals.

Looking for Caveira posts dogging McEnelly and Ferrari offense.  Just saying.

@Caveira won't respond.  He's just an Iowa fan who is a Penn State hater and will try and discredit Rocco in any way he can. He doesn't actually believe that Angelo is the best 184 pounder in the country.

Welsh lost twice at big 10s
