I think this depends on definition of open. I think for 184 anyone in the top tier could win, but it is not an ‘open weight’ without favorites. No one is walking into a title that isn’t already in the field. I think heavyweight is the weakest field which would be more to my definition of ‘open’

Looks wrong on paper. But I like the way these semis would match up. As much as Ferrari doesn’t have the match count, it’s best for the tournament to have these as top 4.

I’m pretty sure Max hasn’t given up a full hand’s worth of takedowns in his career. I know he’s seen as aggressive because he techs everyone below his caliber, but he’s only given up takedowns to Starocci, Keck, and Sinclair to my knowledge. His defense is really solid because of his style of staying at a distance and stinging guys

I’ll agree that first 7 was a bit fortunate. But I don’t think you can ignore the ride out and power the rest of the match. Ran him off the mat a few times.
