Ivy and ACC are easy to seed since they wrestle a round robin in the regular season.

Seed this Ivy bracket at 133:

Ferrera (Cornell)  beat Rivera (Princeton), Gursoy (Columbia)

Rivera beat Mougalian (Penn), Nogle (Harvard)

Mougalian beat Ferrera, Nogle, Gursoy

Nogle beat Rivera

Gursoy beat Nogle

Everyone beat whoever Brown had.

The BIG and Big 12 are the only conferences where the seeds really matter as the draws effect who advances.  A draw matters when it might be the difference between taking 7th or 9th and there are 8 autobids.

The MAC is also a large conference where many of the wrestlers haven't met in the regular season but the draws don't matter as much when one has to take 3rd or better to qualify.

Ivy and ACC are easy to seed since they wrestle a round robin in the regular season.

The Socon is going to be winner take all in many weights and they wrestle for true second

The PAC shouldn't even be a an autobid conference to be honest.  There's some good wrestlers and a few might AA but quite a few are going to advance as champs that other wrestlers are going to want to draw at NCAAs for a shot to bonus.

The Pac got the standard 2 year exemption the NCAA gives all conferences across all sports to get their stuff in order when dropping below the minimum; NIU is already confirmed for next year and I would anticipate 3 - 5 more schools joining with an announcement either after conference tourney's or after NCAAs

How does the B149 in the big 10 hash out? I am new to the formulas not sure how it's all weighted for seeding.

Anyone have a guess?

I just dislike champions getting a spot at the table in a 4 team conference.

How do you feel about a "Ten" team conference getting ten qualifiers much less seven or eight?

I understand the exemption but that doesn't change my disagreement with it.   Little/Rademacher is going to be one of the best finals of any conference.   I just dislike champions getting a spot at the table in a 4 team conference.  Still wrestle the conference tournament so everyone has placement for the matrix but make them either take an allocated spot or at large.

I get your reasoning/logic but you are also asking the NCAA to change their rules which would only hurt those schools and punish student-athletes who have nothing to do w/ it.  The Pac last year was a lot tougher but Bakersfield lost Ferrari, LR got hit by transfers out, Cal Poly is banged up (no Tinker or Romney).  It's just a perfect storm this year and should be remedied next year with an 8ish team conference.

My disagreement isn't just with the PAC.   The SoCon does it also and I've stated how much I like SoCon wrestling many times.   I just don't think conference champs should get an auto spot if no one in the conference allocated one.

A bonus on the backside scores just as much as the front side at NCAAs.

Outside of college football (who's FBS postseason isn't operated by the NCAA), that's pretty fundamental against how the NCAA operates across the board.  FCS football, soccer, baseball, softball, lacrosse, etc you win your conference you get in.  I like it, I get your point but I think you would also crush those smaller schools if you took away their AQ.  They are already behind the 8 ball but would make recruiting/retaining talent that much harder.

Track (and maybe swimming?), I believe, are the only exceptions as they are time based and the sheer magnitude/logistics they need to trim more than AQ's from every conference.

In the end it doesn't matter since there will probably be two auto bids and they wrestle for true second.

Pretty sure the Ivy League tournament in 2025 didn't include true second place bouts.  Is this a new thing?

Mongolian 1, Ferrara and Rivera 2 or 3. Noge and Gursey 4 or 5.

You managed to misspell four of the five names.  Well done!

How does B10 Heavyweight get seeded?

Ferrari - Lost to Feldman 2x, beat Mirasola and Ghadiali

Ghadiali - Beat Mirasola and Feldman, lost to Ferrari

Feldman - Lost to Ghadiali and Mirasola, beat Ferrari 2x

Mirasola - Lost to Ghadiali and Ferrari, beat Feldman

I think Ferrari gets the 1, but the 2-4 I could see going any combination of the remaining 3

One of the issues with using Coaches' Rankings is that there is a bias build in for the larger conferences so they are going to get more allocations by wrestlers who just barely meet the rank needed.

On the other hand, the BIG had 30 some percent of the allocations last year and had 37 AAs or 46% so one could argue that they deserve even more allocations.

It's hard to compare these things when the sample set doesn't include the guys you're trying to make a case for. That being said, I think it's better to compare seed #s to finishes. Here's a chart of all of the Big 10 preseed AAs and final AAs. It ends up pretty much being a wash. The real story here is Nebraska. Their green to red ratio is crazy. Without them it would be pretty easy to complain about a Big 10 bias last year.
