The way he whiffed on that left back step…reminded me of grandpa Wallace slipping on the ice! Seriously, is AJ’s left leg shorter than his right?

Also: how does he slide on his kneepads like that?

Is he “greasing”?

I would be curious to know how the coaching staff is managing his load. He'll be 27 shortly after NCAAs and you just can't practice the same way at that age as you can when you're in your first few years of college. The body just doesn't recover fast enough to grind every day. I would assume they know what they're doing with an older athlete, but who knows. He's looked a little sluggish like maybe he doesn't really have his legs under him.

Average age of NBA player is 26 and the NFL is 27. I think he can handle it.

Weird stoppage here. Fishback got bonked apparently. Concussion protocol.

Looked to me that he jacked his knee and talked trainer into a protocol.

Props to Feldman for taking the mat after beating Aj before. Didn’t need to for himself but did for the team. Showed up and put up with AJ popping his head, taunting with his leg and driving him OOB. Stayed focused and shut him up. Twice

He pointed to his forehead. Concussion protocol lung timeout?

I actually would not be shocked to see Birden against Mitchell I doubt either guy avoids getting teched but Birden probably has the best shot to slow things down.

Great point but still a long shot against MM

Thought starting Birden was ducking 😂

It clearly was and had Feldman not been that guy today, ducking would have cost the dual.

If it waddles like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a duck.

You don’t have to agree with it.  It is true.

I was rooting for tOSU in this Nebbie dual.

That said, if they lose because they ducked at 157/165 it will make me happy.

Prime example of momentum in duals causing drastically different results.

Cannon seemed to get dinged up in his match Friday against Millard, Minnesota. He was limping during the match after something happened. That's not a duck. And Tom Ryan has said all year that the 165 starter is still not determined, so I figured they wanted to give Birden a chance at a guy Gallagher has beaten. So that one is not a duck. It definitely did not help them though.

Momentum clearly a thing in both Nebraska-Ohio State duals this year. Ohio State had 4 in a row to start today, then Nebraska had 5 in a row after that. 165-197 were very close - 2 in OT, McDanel late takedown, 1-0 at 165. HWT was obviously close too in OT, but Feldman got it.

Had the dual outcome been decided before hvy I doubt Feldman would have wrestled.

Is that what you think of Tom Ryan? Is he know to do this? Did they even weigh in another HWT?

To give you a little credit, I did want to see Bouzakis wrestle Friday(he already beat Volk). I thought it would have been good for him to do Friday/Sunday weigh ins, but there are two more weekends on their schedule for him to do this.

Not at all. Just the way wrestling seems to be now. Do you think Cannon would have wrestled today had he lost to Taylor? Do you think OSU is wrestling the same starter against PSU as they will for B1G?

Cannon can’t walk.

I already acknowledged that.

The duck at 165 (Paddy Majored Aroujo last dual) nearly cost them still.  Thank goodness for Feldman.

Survey time, do we think ziola would have changed the outcome of that match?

He would've tried to score don't ya think?  How much worse outcome could it have been?

Nebraskas 65’ won 1-0 to the backup and paddy MD him earlier…. They are clearly not set at 65’ or 97’

I'm not sure. Ziolas defense looks really good, but feldman can get rolling on offense pretty good against some guys. I don't know if ziola would have tried more or not. He took a lot of half shots last time he wreslted hopke, but hopke and feldman are two completely different animals

Full of un-bias blasphemy.

Ziola weighs 220lbs and is a true freshman who is very talented. Once he puts on 20lbs he will be a tough out and a podium contender for 4 years. Long and very flexible. He is going to be a good one. That being said, Feldman would be tough because of the weight difference IMO. Certainly bothers Ferrari who doesn’t want to get caught underneath the bigger HWTs.

What makes you say this? Did you see him on the bench on Sunday on crutches or something?

Tom Ryan said he was dealing with something when interviewed. Which based on what I saw made me think meniscus.

Did not see the acknowledgement. Long thread.

Everyone seems to think it's a duck. I will concede due to uncertainty, but it's a contested weight. They've been rotating all year. Birden has better wins but worse losses. Gallagher has less good wins but better losses and those losses were close. Hard to say who goes at Big Tens.

The ducking suggestion is ludicrous.  165 is up in the air between Birden and Gallagher with the staff looking for one of them to establish himself.  And Cannon is dealing with a knee issue.   Incidentally, no one is afraid of Antrell Taylor.  PJ Duke will beat him and probably by major.

It's the dog days of wrestling season and some guys are starting to look tired and banged up.

Bucks came away with a good road win yesterday against an excellent Nebraska squad.  They also saw what they need to work on--riding out periods and finishing shots.

Brock Hardy barely beating Bailey on Friday was a tell that something is off with him.  Honestly, Mendez should have teched him.

It was not clear when he would have hit his head since it wasn't in the last 5 seconds of the match (could have been a little earlier and he survived until the end).

I thought I saw him wobble a little when he went to his corner, which could be a knee as well.

If it was a knee, then the concussion protocol was a clear lung timeout.   If it was his head, he shouldn't be passing the protocol after hitting his head and stumbling around.

It obviously didn't look great the match after Ryan through maybe the most obviously lung brick ever.
