Speaking of idiots.  You should read up on what constitutes a war.

I know what war is you idiot. Yes, we are in one. Not legally, but the wingers don't care about that. Just because it was done illegally doesn't mean we aren't at war.

This is a lot more than a few strikes. That being said, both parties have abused executive powers. Trump has gone further though.

I can guarantee this will end up being a lot more in terms of total military cost than any Obama invasion.

More than these ?

The following are major military conflicts or sustained hostilities that the U.S. has engaged in without a formal congressional declaration of war:

  • Korean War (1950–1953) — U.S. troops committed under U.N. auspices; no declaration.

  • Vietnam War (1960s–1973) — Authorized by the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution rather than a declaration.

  • Gulf War buildup (1990–1991) — Troops were deployed before Congress passed an AUMF.

  • Bosnia & Kosovo (1990s) — U.S. participated in NATO/UN operations without specific new congressional war authorization.

  • Somalia, Haiti, etc. — Multiple interventions during the 1990s without declarations.

  • Afghanistan & Iraq post-2001 — Actions conducted under AUMFs but without new war declarations.

  • Libya (2011) — Air campaign authorized by NATO allies; no congressional declaration.

  • Syria, Yemen, and counter-ISIS operations — Airstrikes and combat operations under existing AUMFs or executive authority.

  • Obama - 26,000+ big ol bombs

As stated,  both parties have abused executive powers in this area. You are deflecting. This is looking like a very costly and protracted military effort.

Congress has formally declared war only 11 times across five separate conflicts in U.S. history, with the last declaration occurring in June 1942 during World War II

. These five declared wars are:

War of 1812 (against Great Britain)

Mexican-American War (1846, against Mexico)

Spanish-American War (1898, against Spain)

World War I (1917, against Germany and Austria-Hungary)

World War II (1941–1942, against Japan, Germany, Italy, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Romania)

What would you call one sovereign country invading another sovereign country and abducting their leader, and taking their natural resources?
