I do not think he will be wrestling anymore for mccort, I do not think that that means its a done deal he is wrestling in March but I think his high school career is over.

I tend to agree

Bill Bassett says “a couple of our guys are going to be moving onto college early,” then says “we’ll have to see” what Jax does.   He technically didn’t even rule out Bo wrestling at NCAA’s this year.

Interesting interview!

Who's the other guy who went to college early?  Herring?  Don't see him at Ironman... neither Herring brother actually.

Believe he is living in Bellefonte doing a year at NLWC

Thanks.  Yeah, I dunno about that.  He ain't Jax.  There's more than enough good competition in the McCort room and their schedule is plenty tough.  I'm thinking this may hurt him more than it helps.

Both Bassett and Forrest are 19 already.  It's not a big deal if you throw them in the college grinder second semester this season.  Probably won't happen, but both would be 20 next fall as freshmen (BB in August and JF in October).  Hard to refer to them as high schoolers right now in terms of a wrestling time table and experience, which they clearly have.

The two ends of this conversation are quite delicious...

JAX FORREST IS TOO OLD! IT'S NOT FAIR! HE SHOULD BE KICKED OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL FOR A DECISION HIS PARENTS MADE 14 YEARS AGO THAT TONS OF PARENTS MAKE PRIOR TO KINDERGARTEN FOR THEIR SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER CHILD!

On the other end of the spectrum:

HOLY CRAP JAX FORREST COULD BE THE YOUNGEST WORLD CHAMP IN USA HISTORY! LOOK WHAT HE ALREADY DID LAST YEAR AT SUCH A YOUNG AGE! WHAT A YOUNG PUP!

Ramirez loses to Andrick of WV.  Does this make it more likely we see Jax this year?

I definitely do not think its going to hurt the odds. What shapes out with PSU at 197 I think could also be a factor.

What's the Jax-Barr connections?

I think he’s saying that if Barr can’t wrestle due to injury that that gives OK State motive to go all in on this season.

I believe the age distribution for high school graduates is 22% are 17, 74% are 18, and 4% are 19.

I would question why? Per Flo’s recent rankings kerfuffle that got many panties in a bunch, they’re still 25pts+ behind a wounded, floundering, Barr-less PSU. Do they plan for 2nd semester enrollee Jax to make that up and then some??

What if Cael plays 3D chess and shocks the world and sees their Jax with an Ono?? Jimmy get on this. Ono 2nd semester is a go go!!

Well yeah, if Jax wins then he gets 20+ pts, although not sure what their current projection for Ramirez would be.

Vega, Robideau and Lockett are pretty much maxed out but they have potential upside with Spratley, Swiderski, and Ryder to name a few.

I do not think it's best to use Jax if you are still projected to lose by 30+ however if it's within the margins I think you take a shot at it because crazy things can happen in March.

I'm conflicted on what I want.  I'd like to see Jax get a full year at Oklahoma State but Penn State seems to be showing a little bit weakness right now in a couple weights.  Even if PSU takes a step back, are we better than Ohio State or Iowa scoring team points in a tournament?  I'm not confident the answer is yes but next year PSU gets Braeden, Ono, Kasak etc. so I guess let it fly and see what happens

People who wait for the perfect shot never end up taking any shots.

Okie State should take a shot.

In John's last year they finished 10th and lost to PSU by 116 points

In Taylor's first year they finished 3rd and lost to PSU by 72 points.

Keep making gains and try to get as many points as possible.

If they sit back and go we can't win even with Jax winning it all so why try they may never find a perfect lineup.

Plus, OkSt goal shouldn't be to win it 1 time in Jax's senior year,  it should be to win it every year and you won't do that unless you start trying to win it all as soon as possible.

Does OkSt want to win 1 title or be the best program in NCAAs?

Right. It's still a win for OSU if they place second this year. I'm not saying they will, but it would be massive for momentum, recruiting, vibes.

Jax may have had his final high school match tonight

5 pins in less than 25 seconds (including 4 in a row and 4 of the 5 being less than 20) is pretty wild

Seeing people saying that Jax will wrestle second sem, but stay in RS. That makes sense to me, they could use him in the Iowa and ISU duals but don't "waste" a year of his NCAA points. Especially since he was never going to RS next year so this is not changing anything, just giving him an extra semester of college expereince/training (plus some chances to win some big matches).

Who knows tho
