Someone has to join PacX still so we'll see what happens (my money is still Cal Baptist and Utah Valley) and then possibly the Dakotas

A chance to host the Pac-12 tournament and equal voting rights. In the old Pac 10/12 the affiliates did not hold any voting rights or a chance to host the tournament, but now part of the expansion they will have that. I am pretty sure that only member teams in the Big 12 have those rights as well.

What do they vote on that makes a difference?  Appears the B12 has settled on Tulsa for tournament they use the same bracketing, rules etc as B10 and NCAA.  Guess maybe video review rules could be different.

The schools you are talking about are the bottom half of the B12. They have no voting rights for any matter that may come up. They have no say in anything that happens along the way or any changes that may come forth in the future, and we know a lot has changed in the last few years. The difference of being on equal footing with an equal voice and on a rotation of hosting the conference tournament is appealing to some.  The chance to build a conference and be more competitive within that conference is also appealing to some. UVU's out of conference schedule this year is tougher than their in conference schedule. They have Iowa, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Stanford, Oregon State, Southern Scuffle and Vegas on the schedule in addition to their conference - Ok State, Missouri and Iowa State.

I would agree it'd be nice to have official conferences for all sports but that's not the world we live in now.  Its a football and basketball world.   Universities dont make money hosting conference tournaments and dont want them.  Hence Tulsa and part of why NCAA went to non U locations.  Now if the vote thing is true and affiliates really want it guess they could use that in bargaining to stay or leave.  Still see nothing gained by leaving except maybe CalB.
