Sadulaev (likely) out. Bummer.

No Sadulaev means Tazhudinov murders the whole field on his way to gold. For US and Iran, our chance of medalling increased drastically but it also means worse quality wrestling with him out. Of course anything can happen at worlds but Tazhudinov gives off the kind of aura that Sadulaev has and that guy doesn't lose.

there was a of sotiev kinda dogging him in training "probably means nothing" but it was enough to give me some hope that Azarpira still stands a chance.

I just read the article in the Iranian media.  While it's true that he is banned from Schengen countries, Serbia is not part of Schengen.  So Sadulaev will most likely miss the next two European championships, but he should be at the worlds this year in Serbia.

Yes, I figured!🤣

I kid, but I figure Micic would be wrestling if it were in Serbia.

Someone got banned on another wrestling board for bringing up the unusual success of the Serbian team at the las world championship, so it's best to stay off that topic.

Nothing will ever top Kazakhstan taking home 2nd in the team race when they hosted in 2019. Not even Micic getting a 14 kg allowance! (there is not enough tin foil in the world for me to actually believe that conspiracy btw)

In the 90s, it seemed like the home nation always did better than expected.  This is generally to be expected, but as much as I liked Angle,,, Jadidi wins the 96 final in Iran (or maybe anywhere outside of US).

The draws in Kazakhstan were nuts.
