Judge denies release of Jeffrey Epstein transcripts in Florida

Geoffrey Berman, then the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, announces charges against Jeffrey Epstein on July 8, 2019, in New York City. A federal judge in Florida has denied a request to unseal grand jury transcripts from a separate Epstein case in Florida.

A Florida federal judge on Wednesday denied a request to unseal grand jury transcripts of a federal investigation into disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.

President Trump had called for the release of grand jury testimony related to Epstein, who was accused of sexually trafficking children, in response to pressure from lawmakers and some supporters to show more transparency with the case.

U.S. District Judge Robin Rosenberg of Florida said in her ruling that 11th Circuit law does not permit her to grant the government's request and that her "hands are tied."

Give me a good reason the Obama judge should block the release?

The judge said the Trump Administration arguments were too weak ( "extensive public interest" and "transparency to the American public") to qualify as special circumstances under Fla law. But the administration is free to make stronger legal arguments. We both know they won't. Make the weakest possible argument, get denied, throw your hands up and say "gee whiz, we tried", then hope it goes away.

It won't, especially now that the WSJ is reporting that Bondi told Trump in May that his name was in the Epstein files (different from Grand Jury testimony) many times.

Next step, go to Maxwell and tell her if she says she never saw Trump, Trump was nowhere near Epstein, etc. then they will shave a whole lot off her 20 year sentence.

Trump fired the prosecutor who refused to charge her, the one he appointed to replace the fired prosecutor immediately charger her and got a conviction.

Because there are still people in the country that understand law, and law procedure, have to be followed correctly if we want to continue to be the greatest country in the world, and that carries more weight than click bait material on social media. There are also people that understand there is a social media battle that can be fought with the minions.  And yet, there are also people that understand minions will slew at the name Obama and run run run with it, while having no understanding of the law and law procedure.

Blanche appears to fit all three of those categories.

Given the way you write it is very hard to know what you are saying. But Trump did not ask for a subpoena. And the them that is being subpoenaed is different than the them that the crappy petition, not briefing, was asking for. This is the point I already made in anticipation that you would intentionally conflate the two.

So.

when the Ds were in power in the last admin.  They did literally zero to release the files.

Now that the Ts are in power the Ds are mad at T for not releasing them …. And at the same time T isn’t following the law well enough (on purpose?) to get them released.

political theatre is fun.

Also tulsi gabbard “works” for Trump and does what he says but the people in the house committee with the subpoena do not count for T.   I mean is he in charge ?  Is he dictator ?   Is he not ?    Is he only in charge when you hate the stimuli but he is definitely not in charge when you like it.

Using “The T’s” says soooo much.  Even more than using “Big T”

If it was a regular R it would be different so I changed it.

I don’t disagree with you, but an equal or greater number of minions have been chasing after Trump for a decade now.

“During his 2024 presidential campaign, Donald Trump frequently vowed to “demolish the deep state” and leaned into conspiracy-laden rhetoric. But on the subject of Jeffrey Epstein—the convicted sex offender and financier whose death in a Manhattan jail cell in 2019 fueled years of conspiratorial obsession—Trump was notably less eager to make bold promises than many of his closest allies.

While the idea of a secret “Epstein client list” became a fixation for far-right influencers and members of Trump’s base, the candidate himself rarely brought up Epstein unprompted in campaign speeches or rallies. Instead, it was Trump’s official and unofficial surrogates—many of whom now occupy top posts in his Administration—who repeatedly stoked expectations that explosive revelations were imminent, often suggesting prosecutions were coming and that thousands of pages of damning material would soon be released.“

Controlling the Epstein files is like possessing the Ring in Lord of the Rings. Once you have the power over the people "on the list" your job as president gets much easier.
