You don't read very well.

It has since been revealed that the intricate prize hoisted aloft by the London club’s captain, Reece James, was a replica because the president of football’s governing body, FIFA, has let Trump use the original as an ornament in the Oval Office. The trophy, crafted in collaboration with Tiffany & Co, features a central disc with three rotating outer rings. It has a 24-carat gold-plated finish and is thought to have cost around $230,000 to make. If FIFA lets Trump keep the orbital award for good, it is likely to end up in the National Archives.

The trophy was given to Trump by the FIFA President.    And this was done in March.  Perhaps you should take this up with him.

This reminds me of how Putin stole a Super Bowl ring from Robert Kraft. Also the players from Chelsea were confused why he was there and why he was presented with a winners medal.

As usual he wants everything to be about him.

The Daily Beast has faced recent criticism regarding its editorial direction and staffing changes. Some former employees and media critics have expressed concerns that the site's quality has declined and that it is moving towards "tacky clickbait" rather than serious journalism

For 5 minutes I want you to use common sense and rational thinking here.

Why would FIFA give a trophy to him? He doesn't have a stake in any of the clubs participating. I can't find any instances of this having happened before. If he showed up at the Super Bowl and they gave him the Lombardi trophy and then gave a replica to the team that won it, I don't think people would like that.

The article said that the head of FIFA let him borrow it for display. Then later said to keep it. This sounds like FIFA placating his ego because they have to hold the World Cup here next year, and if they somehow bruised his fragile ego or offended him, he would cause trouble. And we know that it doesn't matter whether it costs the country money or anything else, his ego and feelings matter above all. So they just let him keep it, let him hang around during the trophy ceremony, gave him a medal, and let him feel important. Because it's easier to do that then deal with him being a petty asshole.

Help me understand why anyone would care ?

Do you just make stuff up and run with it?

I'm looking at this from the perspective of somebody who has common sense. I'd understand if there was some kind of tradition of FIFA presenting the actual trophy to the head of state where the tournament was being held. But there isn't. I'm sure the President of FIFA isn't going to say Trump just decided to keep it. They definitely didn't make that trophy just to hand it to him. It sounds a lot like how Putin just stole a Super Bowl ring and Kraft had to save face later and say he gave it to him as a gift.

Infantino did it as a bribe to ensure that when the World Cup is in the US, Canada, and Mexico Trump will not ban travel from any qualifying countries.

It'd be hilarious if that thing ended up in a pawn shop somewhere after Trump is out of office.

It will end up in the National Archives.    Anyone with common sense would ask why FIFA president would give it to Trump in the first place.   This was done in March.   Why did you not raise a stink then?

Slow week ?

I did hear or saw an article that documented the auto signing of some of the pardons….. by staffers.    That’s something.

I doubt it. Trump will just take it with him when he leaves. As to why they gave it to him? It was intended to be short term, just on display, until the tournament was over. Trump just decided to keep it and pulled a Putin where he just said thank you for the gift. If you're the head of FIFA what are you going to do? You don't want to bruise Trump's fragile ego, because if you do it'll make things much harder next year with the World Cup. So you let him keep it, get a replica, and apologize to Chelsea behind the scenes about it.

It would be like if the commissioner of the NFL let him display the Lombardi trophy and then let him keep it after the Super Bowl so he wouldn't throw a tantrum and just have another one made to give to the players.

This just shows how petty, childish and egotistical he is. The Chelsea players were not liking the fact he tried to steal the spotlight from them.

For everyone out there - take a few breaths, relax, clear your minds, then read carefully.

Trump is obviously excited to be part of a winning athletic team and excited to accept a trophy that he didn't earn.

Trump, of course, has zero athletic ability and has never won a trophy in any athletic event.

Doesn't his behavior (DuPont) remind you of anyone (DuPont) who was rich and had no athleticism (DuPont) at all?

Yet his desire to be recognized (DuPont) as an athletic winner is off the charts crazy.

(Don't forget the time Trump told Dan Gable he thought he could take him.)

He's the president so he has it. But to butt your way into a trophy presentation like that is just very tactless. I might understand if he was a big Chelsea fan and got carried away. Or if he had a stake in the team. But just to lurk around, and get presented a winner's medal and to take the original trophy that was supposed to be presented to the winners? How doesn't that sound like somebody who wants everything to be about him?

Sounds familiar.......

The incident occurred in 2005, when Kraft visited the Russian president in St. Petersburg not long after the Pats won their third Super Bowl title.

"I took out the ring and showed it to (Putin), and he put it on and he goes, 'I can kill someone with this ring,' " Kraft told the crowd at a gala at the Waldorf-Astoria in 2013, according to the New York Post. "I put my hand out and he put it in his pocket, and three KGB guys got around him and walked out."

The kicker to all this is that Kraft wanted to get the ring back but was strongly persuaded by the George W. Bush White House to let it go.

"I really didn't (want to). I had an emotional tie to the ring, it has my name on it," Kraft said in 2013. "I don't want to see it on eBay. There was a pause on the other end of the line, and the voice repeated, 'It would really be in the best interest if you meant to give the ring as a present.'"

So that's what Kraft did, releasing a statement describing the ring -- valued at $25,000 -- as a gift to the Russian president.

I truly feel sorry for some of you...there is so much more to life than fawning over everything Trump does and playing the mental gymnastics to make him out to look bad...funny part is, one doesn't have to even play these stupid mental gymnastics to make him look bad, just as you don't have to to make him look good every once in awhile.

😂😂😂 He's so desperate to look like he's winning at something

If you don’t consider winning an election.   While the opposition literally labeled you as Hitler and would remove your right to vote forever and become a dictator on day1 as ——— #winning.   You don’t know what winning is.     Oooh.  He is gonna end democracy.   Now that’s winning.
