Turkey has been undergoing this for while now. Erdogan has pretty much succeeed in changing the Ataturk model of governance to a more islamist model of governance. And the people keep voting him in or he keeps messing with the vote so he wins. Probably the latter. I imagine Iran will stay islamist, they have a long history of decades in that mode. It may not be as hardline if this regime falls, but I think it will not be free as we think of it. But free-er maybe. mspart

There have been some...incredibly courageous Iranian people protesting in the streets ALREADY in the past and... pushing, protesting that Govt'. I could actually see it fall back to moderates far-far easier than Syria, Turkey or almost any other Country. Maybe the "White Revolution 2.0."
