Not an answer in full, but part of the difference is the scrambling and the defense of not giving up a takedown - they were not scrambling like they do now when they were a sophomores in HS.

In most cases they are going to be 19 their senior year, wrestling 14 year old freshman in some cases,  because they are "both in high school." Then when they wrestle someone a year older in college, they lost because they are "still in high school," despite being in the same age group.

I was going to ask what their training situations are? Are they all just sticking together at bishop mccort or do they travel to a local RTC to get different matches/looks with older guys?

Forrest has traveled to Oklahoma State's RTC for a while now.  They train at Young Guns quite a bit, have outsiders come train at the Compound/McCourt.   They trained at Iowa's RTC before the US Open.   Bassett was training at NLWC quite a bit but that's tailed off since he committed.

 

I think the real question is if these kids ever actually go to school
