Campaign donations shouldn't even be legal imo.

So only the rich should be able to run for office and represent us?

I'd be ok w small donations but also a public fund for donations. I actually have my own idea for govt that I shared a few times in the past. In short though, I agree w elections but they should all be extremely small. You win your very local election first and you may be voted by your own legislative body to represent  it at the next higher level.

You win 7 or so of these very small and secret ballot elections involving only people that know you and keep advancing and you could be president.

So do away with the constitution, direct voting and representation and go to elected by corrupt proxy voters ... sounds wonderful.

It's my personal idea. Probably a lot of ways to do it w less corruption than current system. Yes I think it's ineffective and outdated. It's not 1790 anymore.

No proxy voters for me. Where u get that idea?

You probably aren't getting it. Imagine something like a wrestling bracket but every match is about 100 people competing against each other instead of two. Winner is president.

Current elections are "legal" and there's no significant voter fraud whatsoever. However, the money influence is very bad and therefore the system needs to change.

I consider bribery aka lobbying to be "legalized bribery." I've said that a few times.

So yah, I'd say our elections are legal but still corrupt as all hell, or at least what happens as a result of the bs lobbying is corrupt.

So what amount could someone give that would not be corruption.   If lobbyists are verboten, why would a representative listen to anyone.   I wouldn't be able to lobby my rep, because that is corruption.   I think you need to think through this a little more.    Our system is not perfect but your system does not appear to be an improvement.

Corrupt but legal, and I explained specifically how they are corrupt. It's very simple, actually.
