You completely miss the argument imo.  It’s not can’t.   It’s two fold.

Did Obama assasinating a US citizen via a drone strike set a legal precedent that anyone could do the same? The guy is a citizen of El Salvador so it doesn't make sense that this sets any kind of legal precedent.

Agree on #1, well “we” being the Trump admin.   Unfortunately that is in defiance of the Supreme Court, who does “want” (read: but not “requiring”) him back.

#2 is nonsense.  If “we” did want him back, El Salvador would give him back.  Trump said as much in the ABC interview.
