Excluding 2020 there are 7 five time AA's.

Including 2020 there are 20:

So how many 6x if we include 2020?

Is there one or two sneaky 7x out there given the UALR scenario?  🙄

Is the list of 5x AAs complete or could someone get it done next year?  I think this would only be possible if someone wrestled in 2021 and later took a redshirt.

I think only Rocky Elam has a shot next year. Lucas Byrd was a blood round loser in 2023, barely preventing him from having a shot.

Ferrari has a chance eventually also if he gets a medical.

How many medicals can he get?

He only needs one for the car wreck.   Used a regular RS for one year and an Olympic for the other.

Thought he got one for the car wreck or did he use a RS that year?  Can't use two for the same year correct?

21 wrestled, 22 car wreck 23 regular RS 24 Olympic RS 25 wrestled. 26 will wrestle 27 will wrestle 28 olympic shirt? 29 will wrestle if granted medical RS for 22.    21 didn't count as a "year"

I am going to do something silly here, and quote the rules.

To get a hardship waiver for an injury:

The injury or illness occurs before the first contest or date of competition of the second half of the playing season. In wrestling the first date of competition of the second half is defined as the 10th competition date for the team. Ferrari was 10-0 with all of his 10 coming in dual meets, the last of which was January 23, this was the eleventh competition date for the team.

The injury or illness occurs when the student-athlete has not participated in more than three contests or dates of competition or 30 percent of the maximum number of contests or dates of competition of the playing season. The maximum number for wrestling is defined as 17 and the 30% provision is defined as 6 in the rules. He is clearly over the 30% provision.

All that said, we have seen the NCAA lose a lot of court cases on eligibility issues, so who knows. But as the rule is written, he does not qualify for a medical redshirt, and he is not particularly close to the cut offs.

Well sure ... but that rule you cited says nothing about if the injury occurred during a fiery car crash ... maybe he has a chance?  🤷‍♀️

I said if he got one and agree that by the letter of the law he shouldn't but I don't care one way or the other.

What I find paticulary outrageous is his use of an Olympic Redshirt.   He didn't enter any freestyle tournaments and didn't in any way attempt to qualify for the US Olympic team.  It's abuse like this that will cause the Olympic Redshirt to go away and some day someone will truly need it.
