Hodge was about pinning, maybe not quite McCready level pinery but he was a pinfest fool nonetheless.  Shirely a datafool on these hear boards could understand.  And giving out half Hodges is just plan stupidfest.  Btw: I love the past and clowns.  🙂

Steveson won a Hodge with one, single, solitary, solo, lonely, singular, non-plural pinfall. Data mic drop.

Oh, now you want to stick to the criteria. Old wind sock ionel, they call you.

You'll never succeed at debate if you only blow one way.  🙂

Love woke 😞 looked for 90 seconds can’t find the “you’re not blowing” scene from big Lebowski on YouTube.

Hodge or half a Hodge?  I'm too lazy too look it up.

But it is, it might not be official but it is. How do you think Ringer won it when he beat Zain. 4xers always get it (unless there are two) so you have to give it to a 5xer. Carter is friggin' 25-0 in the NCAA tournament, if that doesn't win the Hodge then nothing should.

it's not a lifetime achievement award. This is from WIN Magazine who gives the award:

"Wrestling’s equivalent to the Heisman Trophy is awarded annually by the Dan Hodge Trophy Voting Committee to the most dominant wrestler."

1 – Record

2 – Dominance/Bonus-Point Percentage

3 – Quality of Competition

4 – Sportsmanship

 Those are the criteria

Must have changed recently? I could have swore past accomplishments were part of the criteria

Is it’s for the best guy this year.  Why would prior results matter ?   I don’t know if they did but they seem like they should not

Sportsmanship:  Wyatt sat out the dual with AF Academy to keep from making his old team look bad.  His sub still won the match.

Sportsmanship should not be a criteria

Again then Zain should have won it over Dieringer if past accomplishments aren’t considered.

If if and butts were candy and nuts.

How the heck should we be debating stuff from a long time ago.   Some d3 guy split it with Cael I think.   Not that the d3 guy is bad but humans sometimes.   Well human.

I think they decided that this year they’re gonna go by this year’s rules.

And is it considered sportsmanship to give an Air Force officer crap for carrying a USA flag.  Perhaps said individual should lose his half Hodge?

Agreed it should be strict to the criteria so there’s a clear winner of the award. If it’s just this season then I think it’s Hendrickson, if it’s entire career + season then I don’t know how it’s not Starocci

what is the blue room

The blue room has a majority group of has-been blue boyz responsible for the lack of growth in this forum. Perhaps the roaring crowd welcoming in a popular guest tonight may be a hint to be more open and accepting of “others.” and their view points. 😍

I wouldn't say it's poor sportsmanship to give him crap when he's literally an Olympic Champion repping that same flag. You usually rep a flag when you're competing against an adversary from another nation, not another national hero.

No facts.   But someone on the minnows page is saying that gable said you can’t wear an American flag to an officer in the Air Force if you did not win Olympic gold.

I mean, I can see why. Imagine you're out there wrestling, you're an Olympic champ for the USA, and the guy you're facing shows up rocking USA like he's Rocky and you're Drago.

i think you're over(under?)thinking it. This was not an international competition. If Gable had won, he didn't have a flag waiting for him to wrap up in.

Bla bla.  That’s silly.   Now gable is eating that crow no?

He is an officer in the Air Force and has more right to wear that flag than gable imo.

our military has more right to wear the flag than any athlete imo.

That's the thing... Nobody has flags to wrap up in. Nobody brings flags to the finals. Why did Hendrickson?

If you don't know the answer to that question, then I revise my previous statement to say you're underthinking it lol
