I don't know who the commentators were for the Big 12 finals, but the voice of one of them was annoying and super grating. He was enthusiastic, which I liked, probably more so than he should've been but his voice....ugh.  Can you guys identify the commentators in this clip, I don't think they mentioned their names? The first guy speaking is the one who was driving me nuts. His voice got worse over the course of the night as well.

Rock Harrison is awesome. I love listening to him. He's passionate and he truly loves the sport. He does a great job of explaining the little details. I think he's the best commentator in wrestling.

Didn’t say anything about college wrestling not growing. What I am referring to is the lack of affordable televised options for the average college wrestling fan. Sure, rich know-it-all has-beens like yourself will always have access but how about those not willing to fork over Flo fees, Hulu and other venues when it should be far more accessible and for free. Thankfully You Tube provides quick replays which continues to be a great resource for people like me. What “worries” me are the old timers still holding the cards who think they actually mean something to the sport when in fact they mean nothing.

I'll have you know I'm both broke and a never was...don't you feel like a fool...

I think this is what another poster was talking about. How a non-Wrestling fan listened to him and loved him. Just that first shot that Strickenberger takes on Spratley...he's excited, but he's explaining pretty well to the fans what's going on, why they're not out of bonds, what he has to do...'grab his ankle like a baseball bat and pull him back to the center."

I can see why you like that if you don't know Wrestling.

I think in general, for bigger exposure events that are on regular TV, explaining more is better than assuming the fans know what is taking place. If you're tuning into a Flo stream, it's fairly obvious that most of the viewers are going to have a strong foundational understanding of the sport, otherwise they wouldn't be paying for an exclusively wrestling product. But when you are broadcasting to a broader audience, it's nice to have the broadcast explain rather than me having to explain everything to those around me know know less (usually my wife if she stays in the room while wrestling is on).

Can we add Sparks and Gibbons stupid coffee grinder inside joke to the annoying list?   We get it, you call it a coffee grinder in Wisconsin.   A lot of moves have different names, it doesn't need to be referenced on every single broadcast.

I still like the BTN crew and can certainly get over it but its annoying.

Wait ... it's not called a coffee grinder everywhere? What do other people call it?

I guess that being from Wisconsin is why I didn't realize that was a joke.

Why should it be free?  Flo, Hulu, ESPN, Big10 network are all businesses looking to make money and there are plenty of people who will gladly pay for their services.

Sure the 30-40 of you who frequent this forum, but not the majority of wrestling fans. Even to this day, PA wrestling fans statewide - especially the older folks, have yet to accept the acquisition of the PIAA state tourney rights by FLO when it was historically for free. I respect your opinion but I feel otherwise. $$$$$ has poisoned virtually everything including this sport.

Was it truly free or did you have to have cable? A lot of people don’t have cable anymore
