"I'm wearing organic underwear.  I'm using organic bamboo toilet paper".

I think he has reached a whole new level of surrealism.   Ford Pinto: hippie narcissist.

If only he would discover Buddhism and take steps to extinguish his steroid embalmed ego.

Perhaps a pilgrimage to Bodh Gaya in India over the summer is in order ... he can come back with flowers in his hair.

This was a nice bookend to his interview off the mat with Quint, which was top level comedy, the high point being when he cited a Bible verse and asked Quint if he knew it, Quint responding deadpan, "No, I don't," and then asking him another wrestling question, with AJ then when he had a chance reciting the whole verse.

That he keeps proclaiming being "humble" as the key theme during these, umm, not humble, interviews is what makes all these interviews instant and automatic viewer gold.

In a related story, ESPN wants to thank KJ for having Cardenas take bottom, which guaranteed the post-match interview.  They weren't interested in sticking around through the last match to have a chat with Cardenas about how amazing Ann Arbor is.

I wonder if his performance over the last 2 days had anything to do with his girlfriend breaking up with him and family and friends abandoning him during that time. For this kid to bring that up during a national interview I’m willing to bet it did.

That would make him like all other top comic talents.  To come right off the mat after a grueling seven minutes and do back to back stand up sets like that is not something that a happily married homebody like KOT or all of the other boring wrestlers could pull off.  AJ may have even surpassed Palacio this weekend.

Although he was talking a like a confident wrestler during interviews, he just didn’t have enough umph to back it up. I work with troubled youth and much of their behavior and substance abuse comes from a broken heart via family or outside family. This kid had something weighing on his mind while on the mat. Well there’s always next year.

I think it's a little more than just one "something" and it goes back a little further in time than just one recent breakup and its aftermath.

Well he did basically say not being humble was why he lost to Buchanan (because he tried to mess with him before the match or something).

Another Flo interview.  Apparently Heindselman was talking trash.  Didn’t they get into a little kerfuffle back when AJ was at OSU and Heindselman was at Oklahoma?

Man my memory isn’t as bad as I thought, if only I could remember more important things

I hate how Ferrari wrestles. Pure stallmaster.  What I do like is how he gave that interview about being right with Jeebus and then went out and got beat, lol.  Love seeing the fake "christians" getting shown up.

I think his career goal is a permanent spot on the Jim Bakker show.

Before Ted Cruz came along I thought Jim Bakker had the most punchable face on the planet.

The complete lack of awareness is astonishing. He discussed what he perceived as Buchanon's weakness, then he went out and lost to Buchanon.

Maybe you can find another hobby instead of analyzing college athletes mental health on forums.  Did you ever think maybe he or his family read these posts.

What an embarrassment. Sit down and shut up already / geez

I've spoken to a couple guys who witnessed his dustup with Heindselman at weigh-ins, and it happened literally the opposite as AJ described in this interview. He started it by calling Heindselman a "fat f*ck" and he was the one who wanted to take it to the wrestling mat. So, this guy is either totally delusional or a pathological liar.
