There were talks on the OSU Penn State broadcast that both Cannon and Sasso were going to an open Sunday and that would figure things out. Well only Cannon went and he got 1st. So maybe he’s the starter going forward?

Got to go with Cannon. Sasso isn't going to do anything at 157.

Also Gallagher and Shumate went. Gallagher made the finals and Med Forfeit. Shumate got 1st. This put Paddy over 70% so maybe trying to get another allocation but idk how healthy he is

"Brandon Cannon won one of the two 157-pound brackets, while Paddy Gallagher made the finals at 165 before forfeiting, which would hint that Cannon and Gallagher will wrestle in the postseason at 157 and 165 for the Buckeyes, which would also mean that Sammy Sasso's college career could already be over."

Agree.  It would be nice if he could be introduced and recognized by the crowd at NCAAs.  No clue in what capacity but it would be cool for him to get a standing ovation and recognized for his career and everything he went through.

Coach Ryan has been gently leaking this expected outcome for about a month now.  This is what's best for Ohio State.  Anyone close to the program knows that Paddy, Sammy and Cannon have all had a lot to overcome and are warriors.  We celebrate Sammy and move on to cheering for Paddy and Cannon going forward.

I know Cannon had cancer a few years back which itself is a great comeback story, but was he injured at the beginning of this season?

Yes, he was injured before wrestle offs and then was injured against Paniro.  Paddy has been working through some issues as well.

Truth is pretty much everyone on any roster is dinged up one way or another.  These guys are so touch just to step on the mat with what they go through.
