Sure.  And a high crotch is a variation of a double leg

NO....you hi-crotch, drive across to get him off balance, and then change off to a double leg.  A high crotch you attack one leg, double leg you attack both legs.

Ok so it’s a variation of a single leg

I guess you like to argue!!!     I teach that the 4 most important takedowns in wrestling are single leg, double leg, hi-crotch and a front headlock (short offense off the front headlock).  Single leg is head inside and Hi-c head outside.

P.S.   You'd love my video library which goes all the way back to 1970.....nothing but "hi-level" Wrestling!!

So kinda like the move Knox did had different leg position than a spladle…

BTW I agree a high-crotch is different.  But you can’t say a high crotch is different but what Knox did was “just a variation”…

I didn't say they were the same.....it's a variation of a spladle......just like there's variations of cradles...including a banana split cradle.  Fadz

I searched “Suloev Stretch” on x and all the results are guys trying to use it as a submission in MMA fights.  Is this legal? Should it have been stopped sooner for PD?  If not, should he have gotten NF swipes?  I could see the argument for no NF, although I’m shocked the Stanford coaching staff didn’t argue harder for them.

Knox is/was a member of a club called "the Barn" in NH.  The Barn's coach, Matt Smith, wrestled for PSU for a year or two.  Smith placed in Midlands, and I am pretty sure he beat Matt Valenti.  Anyway, this is something they've been using in that club for 20+ years.  Smith was good all around, but was extremely punishing on top with legs.  Pretty good guess is that is where Knox picked this up.

I looooooooove that you guys are attempting to tell a two-time Olympic gold medalist, six-time World gold medalist what that move is, or is not.

I appreciate you're being in my corner WKN......someday I'll show you another hold I learned a long time ago (I'll show it on someone else....lol).....the "banana split cradle".....variation of a cradle and banana splits....could call it a variation of a spladle I suppose as well.  😉🔨💯💥🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇

Only if you agree to show it to me using someone else as the banana.

I actually I had edited it, adding that in, but somehow it didn't appear.  I actually could probably go back through clinic notes from the 70's and find where and by whom I learned it from.  I actually think I remember.....may have to go to my office library....lol.

Lol I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic, but isn’t a banana split just what some people call a spladle?

Banana split is done out of a cross body leg ride. Spladle is done out of a merkle (some call wrong leg in. There are some similarities but different moves.
