Thoughts on the pardon of Ross Ulbricht, the founder of the "Silk Road"?

It's long been a hot-button issue, especially in the crypto space.  Interested to here some of your thoughts.

I don't think he should have gotten life, but he did try to kill people so he should be in prison.

Correct. The entire point of the website.

Human trafficking, drugs, fake IDs and passports.

He also attempted to have multiple people killed in murder-for-hire schemes.

Watched a few videos on this.   He was never charged with the murder for hire, and his sentence was longer than actual murder for hire sentences and no one was even murdered.

I’m good with the pardon.  He ran the website but he wasn’t actually selling drugs except for some mushrooms when the site first launched.   The guys actually selling the drugs got much lower sentences.

Ben Askren seemed very pumped about this.  Ulbricht was basically the first person to give an actual use for bitcoin which I believe was the only payment method on the site.  Kinda funny that people spent amounts of bitcoin that are now worth $1 million+ on some weed.
