Attaching a link to one of, if not, the greatest documentaries ever made on corruption in politics. Had reservations about posting this because I'm concerned that for those who may watch it will turn into another Dems vs Rep debate.  This documentary is not about that.  Philadelphia was corrupt way back when the Republicans ran it up until the mid 20th century and stayed corrupted after the Dems took over.

Why this documentary is so important is it shines light on political tribalism and it's dangers.  Political tribalism can take on many forms.  In this case, the Mayor Street vs Sam Katz election, it takes on the form of race.  The tragedy is the African American community reelected a mayor who was the puppet for certain Unions that had no interest or care for them.

On a side note.  I believe that being non partisan takes courage.  I've come to enjoy the spirited debates on this forum but all too often I've seen the dangers (on a micro level) of political tribalism that is displayed on many of the topics discussed on here.  It's important that we debate and disagree but it's also just as important to be self aware/reflective and consider that we may be wrong.

Cheers

Hey Neut, you might want to try working our your interpersonal and communications skills.   Expanding your vocabulary would be a good place to start.

It certainly was.  A cocaine ring involving a religious leader, pay to play schemes, union corruption.  Had it all.
