Not one of the reasons Democrats lost. They missed on much bigger issues.

https://blueprint2024.com/polling/post-mortem-2-nov/

In the final days of the 2024 presidential election, one in four swing voters were still making up their minds. When they finally chose, they broke decisively for Donald Trump—delivering a deeply sobering message about Democratic Party misalignment on the high-salience issues of immigration and the economy and laying bare a Democratic brand problem.

These voters absorbed right-wing attacks against the Democratic Party and delivered a verdict driven by kitchen-table economics and immigration concerns while rejecting what they perceived as Democratic cultural priorities. As our research has shown, these decisive swing voters ranked the Democratic Party’s perceived focus on cultural issues over middle-class concerns as their top criticism (+28)—even above inflation (+24) and immigration (+23).

Vice President Harris couldn’t escape what voters think the Democratic Party represents—believing that the party holds extreme positions on the broad swath of issues and would enforce them through policy. Over 80% of these decisive swing voters believed Harris held positions she did not campaign on in 2024, including supporting taxpayer funding for transgender surgeries for undocumented immigrants (83%), mandatory electric vehicles by 2035 (82%), decriminalizing border crossings (77%), and defunding the police (72%).

Perhaps most painfully, only 22% of swing voters who chose Trump believed Harris prioritizes “Americans like me” versus party activists—a stark contrast with the 80% who said Trump prioritizes “Americans like me” over party activists. Furthermore, 75% of swing voters who broke for Trump say it is either “extremely accurate” or “very accurate” that Democrats are “too focused on fighting Trump rather than bringing the country together.”

Despite Harris’s disciplined campaign messaging and positioning in speeches and paid advertising, Republicans created and exploited disconnects between Harris’s stated views and the preferences of the electorate,  building narratives around her that resonated organically with swing voters. The decision points of these voters—who remained open to persuasion until the very end—reveal not just a rejection of Harris but what they believed the Democratic Party stands for.

Pretty interesting.  I heard about this yesterday.   For swing voters, the trans issue was a big reason they went for Trump.

Most other athletes don't really care either. At least ones who are competing at a high level. I don't think the teams that forfeited or complained really care that deeply, it's just a way to score political points.

The captain of the team filed a law suit.   Along with something like 18 others.

Let's see what happens when a bunch of gangly white dudes in pumps and stringy hair start showing up in the WNBA.  I am quite sure there will be very deeply cared about complaining.

Unless, of course, your disclaimer "At least ones who are competing at a high level." automatically excludes the WNBA.

That bolded sentence says they think she held those positions, it doesn’t mean any of those reasons drove why they voted for Trump, especially considering that sentence lists 4 different positions.

IMO, the fact that down-ballot races were not as favorable to Republicans as the Presidential race was is evidence the trans issue was not a major factor in people’s votes.

Get a handle on how rules work:

  • If what they are doing is not allowed by WNBA rules, then it will be stopped.
  • If what they are doing is allowed by the WNBA rules, then it will be allowed to continue.

If an effort is made to change the WNBA rules, then there could possibly be change. Maybe join any such effort.

If an effort is not made, then it's all for nothing. And you're just a whiny little turd not making an effort, just whining.

Well that hasn't happened so I don't know why you're speculating on things that are pretty unlikely.

Who? I'm surprised you're not up in arms or Trump isn't.

No need to be up in arms.

Google is your friend.  Let me help you

Google.   Are there any transgender dudes in the wnba.  That will result in the answer of layshia.   Another trick.  You can click the tab labeled “images” and see pics of him if you’re so inclined.   Apparently he made the all star team averaging like 7.x points per game or something in that area.   I think he retired from the wnba.   Not 100% sure to be honest.

Okay I've googled and it appears Clarendon is FTM transgender not the other way?

If you say so.  Sure is confusing though.   Does this mean “men” can play in the wbba.   Super confused.

So you just hate transgender people. Got it.

People can compete in the leagues that correspond to their gender at birth. They would still presumably have to stay within the rules regarding steroids and associated hormones.

It’s interesting to me that so many of the people claiming they’re “protecting women’s sports!” seem to have such little respect for the athletic abilities of biological women.  You think some random “gangly white dudes” could make it in the WNBA without being at least a somewhat successful basketball player as a male?  I don’t.  This SJSU volleyball player is a great example.  She even played volleyball as a male in early years of high school apparently, yet all she could muster up was honorable mention All Mountain West.

Biological males do not belong in women’s sports.  But they’re not going to “take over” like some people seem to think.

This is a left leaning polling site trying to make sense of the election results for the Ds.  They are looking at everything and this is one of the things that weighed on most of swing voters minds.   80% of them had this as a concern.   You can dismiss it if you wish as can the Ds.   But if the Ds ignore this finding, and continue has they have in all things, not just this, they will lose elections.   The electorate seem to have turned on their more radical agenda items.   Transagenda is one of those things.   Blueprint is trying to identify those things in order to get Ds some wins.   Shooting the messenger is not a recipe to success.

You might ask those on the Penn women's swim team.   You might ask those that got beat by a man.   You might ask Riley Gaines.    A man won the womens 500 yard freestyle swim event.   That would be taking over that event.   He took third in another race and tied with Gaines and got the medal instead of Gaines.  So why couldn't they give a second 3rd place medal?   They didn't.   For whatever reason.   They gave it to the man who tied for 3rd in a women's swim event with Gaines.

Verónica Garcia did not hear the boos when the race started last weekend.

When she took the lead in the  State 2A girls 400-meter run at the track and field championships in Tacoma, they grew in volume and became unmistakable as she reached the finish line to become the first transgender high school athlete to place first in state.

I'd say he took over that girls  event.

The American women’s Olympic soccer team got beat by a boy’s high school team.

Ouch that is right!   But that was a friendly and the women weren't serious in this game at all.   They were more inspired by helping the self confidence of these younger players, than in taking it to these boys.

Yeah never heard of this person until today and seems like they were born female and now identifies as non-binary.  Don’t see that they ever identified as a man

And then they changed the rules and Thomas would no longer be eligible.  Thomas is the only one to really make a significant impact in NCAA D1 and that was over 2 years ago.

Riley Gaines sure seems to be profiting nicely off of this situation.

Ok hadn’t seen that one, which says they use “all pronouns.”  The main article I saw was this one from 2020, so also using “he” may be a recent change.  Regardless, they were born female.
