He did not say they were all drug runners bringing crime and all are rapists.   But we have enough evidence that there are some.   Not sure what you are arguing about.  Why should we allow these people into our country?

Don't be silly - we've had people illegally crossing the US/Mexico border as long as any of us can remember.

It's not new. It's not a Biden vs Trump topic. It's not a R vs D topic. It's just the way it has been for a long time.

These migrants have been working doing field work, landscaping, gardening - as well as restaurant work, hotel work, etc. in places like Trump's golf courses and resorts. Nothing that we don't all already know. And none of this is in dispute, at all. We ALL know illegal immigrants are working in the US and have for many decades.

You must have been suckered into believe it is a "crisis" as the R's have been continually beating the drum about. If it is a crisis, it's been a crisis that has been going on our entire lifetimes.

Your last statement "Why should we allow these people into our country?" is a good question.

The answer is that we have for a very, very long time because they work hard for very little pay. That helps rich people get richer. And making money off the hard labor of other people has always been America's most proven path to more wealth.

Always.

From that article: The appeal process could drag on for ages, and even if his legal team pulls off a miracle, it might not happen before Election Day. And yes, despite his conviction, Trump is very much still eligible to run for — and win — the presidency because the Constitution doesn't care if you're a felon.

He was convicted of felony charges. The end.

The jury has returned its verdict, but he doesn’t become a convicted felon until the judge makes it official at sentencing.  Which, with the realization that it will be overturned with possible sanctions included, the judge is reluctant to do.  Trump’s lawyers have warned announcers to avoid the term.  Like it or not, that’s the law.

You little twisted poster.

Thank you.  🙂

You posted "and some are good people" - but "and some, I assume, are good people" is the actual quote. Not the same as what you posted at all. It may be subtle, but its a very significant difference.

You say "there are rapists", but he said "they are rapists." Again, not the same at all.

Yes one needs to think critically about posts they read.  I did not quote Trump directly and not in quotation marks.  When said and some are good people I am assuming this is a true statement but no not a direct quote, but yeah pretty much what said.  Good catch.

You seem to have TES - Trump Excuser Syndrome. You might want to see a professional about that. It is a dreadful condition. And you seem to have a very bad case of it.

Thank you again, I'll consider seeing a professional hopefully my insurance will cover treatment.  I may also change my sig line to:

LTP w TES

Yes, they have been coming for a long time as I have noted regarding the plasterers.  But never at the level that we have now experienced.  You are here to tell me that all of these 11 million illegals are agricultural workers?   Naiveté at its best and brightest.

Or they work illegally, which as I said plays into my opinion that we have an illegal employment problem more than anything. I can tell you that around here a lot of businesses will look the other way when it comes to hiring for low level jobs. A lot of immigrants, legal or not, work very hard at whatever they do. I know it's anecdotal, but a friend of mine's father immigrated here, when he was coming up the corporate ladder, he was putting in 70+ hours while getting his MBA. Then afterwards he was the kind of guy who would still put in those same hours until he was 70. His kids had to stage an intervention to keep him from essentially working himself into an early grave, because he would have if they didn't stop him.

If we had jail sentences for employers who hired illegal immigrants, there wouldn’t be a problem. But, many industries (and donors) rely on cheap labor. But, because the people who hire these illegal immigrants are often political donors, that would never happen.

(Of course, if this happened, we’d then see labor laws relaxed and child labor laws go away. In many states, they’re already weakening or killing those laws off.)

Agricultural? I didn't say that - you did. And you're completely wrong about it.

You replied without actually reading my post. Don't be such a dimwit. Read the post carefully before replying.

As I said in my post - Illegal immigrants are working:

  • Field work, landscaping, gardening
  • As well as restaurant work, hotel work, etc. in places like Trump golf resorts:
    • We have all known this for decades that Trump hires illegal immigrants for his golf courses & resorts
    • The Bush family did, and still does, the same. Hiring illegals for managing their properties and doing a significant amount of work. And if matters to you - the D's in Texas are doing the exact same thing.
    • It's how Texas and most of the border states manage to profit in their day to day business.
  • What IS A BIG DEAL, is the difference between what Texans and southerners do, and what they pretend to do when they are arguing about the "Crisis" at the border.

Based on your post, it appears the "Crisis" at the border is that they've got more hard working and low paid workers than they can currently put to work. And some may actually "act up" when they have no work or pay.

That is, indeed, a wealthy man's crisis.

The guy who used to own a well known horse racing track operation was a big time GOP donor, especially to Joe Arpaio, whose big thing was going after illegal immigrants when he realized it would get him attention, and he employed a lot of people here illegally. Same with a guy who ran a chain of car washes. Then the car wash guy stopped donating, so his car washes got raided by the sheriff's department. Must have been a coincidence.
