Why would he? Sad will likely make the final. No reason not to attempt to get a bronze after flying all the way over.

True true.  Plus he needs to show his team how to rally back.

This was the ultimate betrayal of Sanderson. Taylor steadfastly refused to try a single ankle pick. I thought for sure with his reach he'd be picking ankles all match. Instead, he snubbed that favorite Sanderson technique. Anyway, that's my theory. How else do you explain: High crotch. Squash. Go behind. Two. Repeat?

Also, I like Brits and Scots when they do comedy but not so much wrestling commentary.

I thought the same thing with the ankle pick. Then I wonder if Sadulaev has ever been ankle picked...

DT seems to have one trick.  Not seeing much variety in attacks.  Easily said.  Sad is awesome.

DT had nothing for him. Not sure if he could have implemented a different strategy or not but that was not close.

I don’t think it was bad strategy or a lack of variety of attacks. We all know DT has a ton of different leg attacks and his game plan is always to be offensive and keep shooting. He will sometimes give up some points that way but has typically been able to overwhelmingly outscore his opponents twitch this strategy. Sadulaev is just so positionally sound that it looked like all his attacks were not very good. So it may have looked like Taylor just took a bunch of bad shots, but in reality it was just Sadulaev that made them look bad.

All seemed like the same shot to me. One side or other.  I’m no technique wizard though.  But yes, perhaps it was the only option he found available due to Sad’s positioning and threats.

How many go behinds has Taylor experienced against him?  Feel like it has been very very low.  Sad got it twice.  Springs like a cat.  And I think that snap down before one go behind was unreal.

To DTs credit, was not chest wrapped after being threatened with it multiple times.  And didn’t get gut wrenched.

Impressive glass 5 % full approach

I believe that Ono vs Uguev will be up next on Mat A

Can confirm that Ono is good. Up 5-0 right now on Uguev. Looks fast and strong.

I'M BACK... decided to make it a "sick day"... ( cough, cough.)

That Scottish color announcer reminds me a bit of the race driver and former ABC sports announcer, Jackie Stewart:

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Wow... Uguev (who won his challenge, on the verge of being TF'd ) is hanging by a thread!
