In reference to Campbell wrestling in an empty gym. I beg to differ. B1G crowds? Not hardly. Empty gym? Also not hardly. Campbell puts on a good show and the fans have a good time. And by the looks of it the guys have a good time too.

Campbell is having their wrestle offs in the parking lot in front of the main gate of the football stadium at Saturday's homecoming football game. It should be a fun atmosphere!

Campbell athletics is facing a budget crunch. HOPEFULLY this will be a temporary situation and proper funding can be restored. Until such time, Campbell Wrestling will need to raise funds to keep the program competitive. Campbell IS NOT dropping the program! Alumni and friends of the program are going all out to help bridge the gap. For those willing and able to contribute, you can go to Rollhumps.org to make a contribution. This a quick website set up to take donations. Other ways to help is spread the word. Podcasts and Blogs mentioning Campbell's fundraising efforts would be tremdous help for those with contacts with such. Campbell is a small private school, in a small town in North Carolina with an enrollment in the 4K range and thus a small alumni base, but they're passionate and want to keep Campbell Wrestling competitive.

Today Campbell had an open practice with faculty members invited. As the team broke a pre practice huddle every team member went to each faculty member in attendance and shook their hands and said thank you for coming. CU wrestling loves the faculty and the faculty seemed genuinely concerned for the wrestlers. Tough times make tough men. These young men will not be a pushover this year. I sense this is a team on a mission.

Any and all help IS appreciated.

Yeah I addressed this in the other thread when a poster said they got 50 people out for duals... the average last year or the year before was over 400.  Of course the big name program fans scoff at that, but I am a fan of the little guy and the underdog...so Go Camels!

They have the best looking wrestling mat in the country.

A lot of nice mats with logos and school colors out there but none top the Fighting Camels.

I wear my Fighting Camel hats often & support the program. Small schools need our support.

Just noticing that Campbell 125 lber Anthony Molton has been through this sort of thing before in his college wrestling career.  His first two schools were Old Dominion and Fresno State.

Btw, Molton was first alternate for the NCAA tournament each of the last two years.
