Does anyone know if there's a way to pull large amounts of data from TrackWrestling? I'm running match analytics/statistics and was hoping there was a better way than going into each event and copying and pasting results for each weight class.

you can go into results, then final results and copy and paste that. one c/p as opposed to having to do each one separate?

I would have so much more info in my website if there was a way to do this…

From my understanding, the only people that can do anything like that is the tournament admins and/or Track/Flo themselves.

I think. you can if you are an admin. In "text results" you can get an entire round of all weights. I think that is the most data you can pull at once.

I've tried. They don't have an API.

Which is why Track and FloArena don't work together even though the acquistion was three (!!!) years ago. Absurd product "roadmap."

The joke is on us! We actually thought with the acquisition they would make it a better product.

When I get time this week. I may try to create one.
The only thing that I am wondering since you have to create a session on trackwrestling. How to handle that and then parse to strictly which division you want and only those teams and then to those wrestlers. I actually would think that wrestlestat does that. I may have to look at their coding to see what they do. That might be a way to do that

Jokes on you. No one rational thought there would be a better product.

You're about 15 years behind. Use Nokogiri on Ruby Rails.

Hey, I am not a developer (merely and engineer that uses scripts for need) So thank you. but, I have written scripts to scrape html in the past. But that totatlly works.

Hi, I just made a script that seems to be able to parse all matches from a track wrestling event. Feel free to email me the tournament name you want scraped and I can test it out and send you the results.

You don't need admin to do that.

You can get an entire round for all weights, or you can get all rounds for a single weight, but it won't let you do all rounds, all weights.  Life for me would be a lot easier if it did.

And then they could do all rounds, all weights for all events on that day....

I've got a spreadsheet that can parse the matches (mostly, it runs into some errors here and there, but mostly fine), but I need a script to GET all the matches more easily.
