Rivera and Sacultan are the 2 seeded guys there, with 2 to be drawn in, realistically they have no real chance of placing (I know Rivera upset Tevanyan before with a miracle but lets not forget they wrestled again) but man.....
Whoever gets drawn into that quarter, talk about a gift.

If its a top guy (Zain, Kiyooka, Akmataliev, heck even Tobier-Valdes) only having to pull off one "Difficult" win to be an Olympic Finalist... Nice.
Hopefully it's Zain and he gets the winner of Gomez/Rivera second match.

Wrestling for Bronze from there would be no cakewalk  against Ochir/Tevanyan or random top notch draw-in but still.
Drawing into the top half at all is a real gift. Sometimes I dislike that it's not more realistically seeded, but I do like the idea of encouraging athletes to be more active at ranking series events.  Wish brackets were out already.

My only counterpoint is if they wanted to have wrestler be more active at ranking series events, they would spread them around instead of having several in eastern Europe. What I think they actually want is to have them in their home country along with a rule that encourages attendance.

Yeah I mean, I do get it. We are kind of on an island out here when it comes to "meaningful" wrestling. Your point is totally valid though. I just wish there was kind of I don't know, any system to increase the number of high level events and have those events be taken seriously, because the one currently in place, nobody seems to care.

There's always that short trip to Egypt, Turkiye, Tunisia...🚍

It was not a miracle or a decking.  Rivera wrestled a whole match.  Tevanyan let up and just let himself get repeatedly get punched in the mouth.

Keep in mind Rivera's run was insane and he has victories and competitive matches against a slew of gents with high level senior results.

The American gents seem to always steamroll him, though.
