At AAU national duals. Hotel is right on the beach, in the heart of Florida Panther country.  We’re done early today, walk outside to grab lunch and a bev, and see some walk up visitors come in across the street…

Well, Edmonton put up a good fight after being down so low.   I heard they are only one of a handful of teams that forced a game 7 after being beaten so bad in the beginning.   Florida does not deserve hockey in my opinion.   There is no natural reason anyone would play hockey in FL.   There is an ice rink outside of Honolulu where they do some hockey.   Always seemed out of place to me.  But congrats to the Panthers for sticking it out.

Its like hockey in las vegas.   What the heck is it doing there?   MN yes, I can see that.   WI and MI and ND and Canada.   Yep you can go outside in the winter and play hockey.   Tough to do in FL or NV outside.

But congrats to the Panthers on winning the Stanley Cup.

Indeed!!   All in fun.

List of Stanley cup champs in the last few years;

2020  Tampa Bay

2021   Tampa Bay

2022   Colorado

2023   Vegas

2024   Florida

Colorado has an outside chance of being a hockey state.   It can get cold there.   It just seems incongruous.  U of MN has a hockey team.   Does UCF?   FL State?   UNLV?  Colorado or CO State?   Guessing not.

Well I am surprised.   OK ,FL gets the stanley cup, no complaints from me.   I liked the pic of the outdoor rink by the beach.   Great!!

Have never seen one in real life. That would be pretty amazing.

Colorado is 100% a hockey state.

As far as the Elbo Room, that’s an iconic dive. Nothing surprises me about who walks in there.

Was pretty insane (viewing from a distance, wanted no part of that).  Apparently, some of them came down with the cup late Monday night, went to Elbo then took Stanley out for a swim.  I was long asleep by that time but can imagine the scene.
