Full bracket because... why not...bored?

Might do others.  Not sure.

So are the guys with byes to semis really not counted as a seed? That would seem totally unfair to the 2 and 3 seed… they would meet in the quarterfinals and then wrestle a world medalist after that. That’s crazy. It would be much better to be the 4 seed than the 3 seed if that’s the case. They should be counting them as the two seed and adjusting accordingly

Nico vs blaze is a really fun match I think. I know Nico kinda smoked Lilledahl but I think blaze is a bit more physically mature and better in ties positionally right now( not saying hes better than Luke) so I think he will be a tougher matchup for Nico specifically.

This is precisely how they did it last Olympics, too.  It also royally screws up the consis as well.

See below for an example of how 74 KG was.

Technically he was the ( 4 ) seed, but IMar withdrew, but yes.

Thanks for looking into that. I guess they set the precedent, but I don’t like it. Definitely not very fair for the bottom bracket, but I guess that’s nothing new for international wrestling lol.

57 KG should look like this (for those entered, not seeds)...

57 KG

Sitting out to Bottom Semi-Finals

Vitali Arujau - 2023 Senior World champion 61 KG

Challenge Tournament

Zane Richards - 2023 World Team member
Thomas Gilman - 2020 Olympic Team member
Daton Fix - 2019 World Team member
Marcus Blaze - 2023 U17 World champion
Spencer Lee - 2023 Bill Farrell champion
Nico Megaludis - 2023 Senior Nationals 2nd place
Liam Cronin - 2023 Senior Nationals 3rd place
Daniel DeShazer - 2023 Senior Nationals 4th place
Luke Lilledahl - 2023 Senior Nationals 5th place
Richard Figeroa - NCAA D1 champion at 125 lbs
Joe Colon - 2018 World Team member 61 KG
Nick Suriano - 2024 Pan Am Championships champion 61 KG
Jax Forrest - Last Chance Qualifier

So it appears that Figueroa and Colon will not be there.

That puts the seeds from this...

I've enjoyed the seed predictions and the bracket talk. Great job! Now that we know who are the final entries, when will USA Wrestling publish the actual brackets? I'm getting antsy in my pantsy.

I think on Monday, but not 100% on that

The thing is that being there is no actual criteria there can be a lot of human error factored in to seeding and they can legitimately take whatever they want in to consideration.  Will they punish Starocci for never having competed at 74 KG in his life?  Will he be punished because he is injured?
