I am also coming around on the idea of Ayala being a nose ahead of the pack right now.

Only 2 bids in the pac 12 with Kaylor, figs and Provo , should be a battle

Yep - with only six at large spots and all of these upsets - it's going to be extremely competitive to nab one of those six spots

Yea I was originally hoping Klinsky would be able to grab one but it seems unlikely now

It is going to be tough for sure - I think he would need to rely on the strength of his best wins which were against Peterson and Strickenberger who have both already qualified .

Terry reamed Ayala after his loss.  That's good coaching.

If he'd coached the guy up better Ayala might not have lost!

With all the assaults to the rankings that are going to happen at Big 10s and 12s I think it elevates Noto, Flynn, and Stanich's chances

Chances of what?  Getting a better seed?  If someone from the B10 or B12 wins NCAA’s, I kinda doubt it will be the guy that won the conference tournament

I think with how close margins are seeding will matter, yea. Placing poorly at big 10 could hurt majorly.

I'd don't think the seeds matter as much as matchups do

Yeah that may be it. Ramos can get stunted in his offense by many. Ayala can only be shut down by a couple guys like DAgs. McKee can outmuscle almost everyone and stop their finesse. Barnett can roll around with many but gets sloppy and caught by the best. It’s a wild bunch out there.

Agreed! From Caleb's Smith perspective, would rather wrestle Ayala and Davis than Barnet and McKee. But that's just how the bracket fell at big 10s

Yup, this.  Based on the list of who’s qualified so far, really the only guys I would be super surprised if they won it all are Blake West and Michael Joyce

I stand by this…

I’m kinda thinking McKee is gonna want to make the comeback

I agree with this!  There's probably 5 guys just in the big 10 that Davis doesn't want to draw

I’m picking the only guy in the field who is already a national champ Jett Strickenberger , wrestled back for 3rd, peaking at the right time and as someone on here pointed out last night white guys with corn rows have been unstoppable in the ncaa finals the past few years (O Conner , Suriano)

Some trivia here...which 2 125 # qualifiers have identical records against their common opponents, very similar match margins against their common opponents AND found the exact same opponent challenging?
