ILLINI versus Stupid Missouri

Checking the HATER METER for Keegan O'Toole. And, and, and, it's empty. He's a stud. Congrats to stupid Missouri for coming out strong in every match, looking for takedowns and mostly getting them. The bright spots for the ILLINI were the two true freshmen, Kannon Webster and Chris Moore.

Coach Poeta said at intermission that his guys were "respecting them too much." As usual, he was right.

Great production, Jim Gibbons and David Taylor did a fantastic job, no buffering, high resolution cameras, good replays at the end of matches, no commercials during the broadcast. Zero complaints from me about the show they put on. This is how we grow the sport. I hate Missouri.

Why are some people hating on the UFC....or for that matter Flo, Rokfin, Espn+, Big10, ACC network, Big12 network, etc.?  The UFC joining the streaming game actually makes sense....and is potentially a great way to grow the sport as far as worldwide viewership.   Its no different then Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hulu, Disney, etc.  Fight Pass offers a different production quality with unique venues....a barn in Wyoming got over 10million views on social media....pretty impressive.  Do FLo, Rokfin, UFC join forces????  Who knows but with the UFC entering the platform it cant be anything but good for the sport, athletes, and coaches.

You're right from the perspective of growing wrestling media in general and the competition should help yield a better overall product.  It's just that the fan now has a more complicated and expensive way of trying to gain access to it all. I think this opens up an opportunity for an aggregator/middle man to step in - simplifying it into a single price and then each offering becomes like a channel

Agreed 100%...thats why Im wondering if the 3 "outliers" (Flo, Rokfin, UFC) can find a way to come together....obviously FLo and Rokfin would take alot, but with the UFC entering the space....can there be a merger?

Question for anyone that knows. Did KOT weigh in at 165 or 174? Asking because with the restrictions on weight cutting, if he weighed in at 174, when would be the next time he could go 165? Without checking dates, Mizzou has the Soldier Salute, Midlands and a first week of January dual.

I don’t really follow the UFC but don’t they have some fights on ESPN+?  That would seem like the most likely merger.  Plus there is also some collaboration with ESPN+ and ACC/Big 12 so ESPN seems willing to partner.  Flo used to have a deal with BTN but seems like BTN was the one that broke that off.

Yeah I highly doubt Flo and Rokfin will be joining forces on anything.  Sorry @Husker_Du Rokfin seems like the most likely to be the odd man out…it’s the most expensive subscription, including a recent 50% price increase  despite less live college/international wrestling content than it had when it first started not to mention the live events it does have often requiring an additional cost (seems like they’ve been having more HS events but that’s probably a different audience).  And the presence of all the weird non-wrestling content will likely also prevent collaboration with a sports-focused streaming company.

Although if it’s true USAW is coming out with its own streaming service, Flo could be in trouble too as they seem to be getting less and less access to high profile events.
