Unless the long shot scenario that AJ is in by January and wants to go heavyweight happens (I sincerely doubt it) Swafford at 184 makes sense, sending Arnold out at 184 as a true freshman is setting him up to fail definitely. Other than that, it's not ideal to lose Nelson but PK and Caliendo at 165/174 isn't a bad combination. Both I can see AAing at their weights. Caliendo/Nelson is much better (as Nelson is a proven Top 5 guy) but it could be worse. Assad loss hurts since he is definitely a fringe AA in that field and they don't have a good replacement.

He's planning to wrestle and this year is as good of an opportunity as any.

But, if he shows any sign of being draft eligible he's not going to have a career in wrestling. Its not the old days. College football at a school in a power 5 conference is a full year commitment.
