How many we got this year?

This should be the last year of seeing guys who competed during the 2021 “free year,” unless somehow someone got 2 medicals + a regular RS, or maybe a regular RS + medical + ORS.  Although kinda ironic that after all the talk about some guys getting 5 NCAA tournaments due to 2021, now everyone will be able to get 5 years…

I’m seeing:

Konner Doucet

Bryce Hepner

Anthony Echemendia

Zach Redding

Jaden Bullock

Any others?

I don't see Hepner listed on UNC site.

You sure Hall wrestled 7 years? And Micic?

Micic didn't wrestle every single year, but he had 8 years. Wrestled at the 2022 NCAAs, and was a redshirt at Northwestern 2014-15 season. Not sure Tanner Hall did 7 years, but pretty sure he did a mission trip right out of high school

Correct - Tanner only wrestled 5 but went on a mission. Mcic did 8 but sat out a couple years.

If you count greyshirts, then Braxton Amos is on his 7th year.  his first year after high school graduation, he was with Badger RTC before he officially enrolled at Wisconsin the next year.

Seven years is a long time to chase NCAA wrestling glory.  Not commenting on any specific wrestler, but I assume NIL money and perhaps graduate degree opportunities often are a big part of the reason that wrestlers stay so long.  Also, the sport and specific program cultures can be hard to quit.
