great dual yesterday

OSU takes two of first three to put themselves in striking distance

fix gets the major to tie and enough points to win the tie breaker

smith isn't done yet it appears.. they knew how many fix had to score

I wonder if Mizzou knew the same.  If you know Fix has to win by 10, how do you get put to your back (was it an inside trip?).  Just wrestle TDs and bail early.

That's a pretty good guy he was up against.

How bout Konner Doucet?  He didn’t win this weekend but kept it close with two big guys.

Also think Witcraft knew what was required to win the dual with Fix up last.  He was very careful took a 2-1 loss (minimum point differential) thus making it easy for Fix and didn't try any crazy throws in the middle.

Mizzou: "woulda, coulda, shoulda, didn't!"  Don't lose the lesson and move on!  Sounds like the folks in attendance got their money's worth and this dual will continue to be a barn burner.  Iowa state in CoMo next week so gotta get back to work.

He's very good.  But he's not very good at getting bonus points.  He can't turn guys from top, so if you don't get taken down to your back, he has a hard time racking up points.

Agree that's his usual M.O. But I think that the fact that he usually wrestles that way doesn't mean he can't, if needed, rack up a big score on an opponent not in his class.  If I was in the situation OSU was in I'd feel good about him being able to win by double digits.  World silver medalist vs 26th ranked college guy, lower weights, I think the outcome of that match was the likely one. It was just a 2 point near fall (actually I thought it probably wasn't two seconds past 45 degrees).

What did he do to the Michigan kid?

Coming into that match he had 2 MD, 1 Fall, and 9 DEC wins against wrestlestat top 50 opponents.  So you are absolutely right and I am absolutely wrong.  He did turn the michigan kid.
