Just know that I'm laughing at both of you while reading The Aeneid in its original tongue, a joy you'll never know.

I'm all for studying want you find interesting and like. I was just commenting that certain majors can limit your earning potential.

Most of the people in my wife’s (top-15) law school class were humanities majors. Turns out, being able to read, comprehend and respond in a written or verbal format is still a good skill to have.

I’m constantly amazed at “engineers” who can’t read or write…at all.

Do you think that STEM majors tend to find careers in STEM areas?

I wonder how estimates of a major's $$$ value will change as AI continues to swallow whole industries.

My guess? Conceptual thinkers will become more $$$ valuable than procedural thinkers. So, majors hospitable to these idiosyncratic folks will too.

OT edit: Because every major has some avenue to exercise conceptual thought, we'll probably see a bunch these avenues merge with those from other majors and produce complex systems theorists. And, yes, theorists will make cash.

3.0 gpa if AA; 3.2 if NQ; 3.5 if conference participant.

Also saw a lot of Freshman. Good for you if you have one semester of decent grades, but in order for the award to mean anything there should be more than one smemster

My Latin teacher at a rural public high school got her masters from Notre Dame…

I mean props to her for passing it on to the next gen but it just seemed like a waste of education to me at the time
