I'm gonna go with an unpopular take (common for me)

ASU

They keep getting what I consider top of the line guys (manville and larkins mainly)

Colton hawks did awesome!

But as far as what they are accomplishing with the talent they have, I just am not impressed

Full of un-bias blasphemy.

Over preform:

Michigan

Stanford (imagine if Garvin/Norman were healthy)

Arizona State

Columbia

Under preform:

Ohio State

Cornell

Virginia Tech?

I wouldn't just define over and under performance as a thing relative only to seeds.  If you had a bunch of top 5 guys struggle during the regular season, end up seeded in the teens, and then place in the 6-8 range, that's not true over performance.  Over performance shouldn't just be a product of a bad regular season.

I would put Michigan in the overperformed category.  Five of six qualifiers AA'd with each either matching or exceeding their seeds.  It is possible the Wolverines place 6th as a team, which would mean only one non-BIG team outscored them.

If Valencia beats wins the title by decision, how many points would that give Stanford?

Next year they get Lemley back in the lineup I bet Moses mendazo starts as a true freshman that has a legit shot at all American status they have two hammers coming from Wisconsin but they could make the lineup as well seeing they'll need a 49 pounder and a 65 pounder cuz I don't think Gilcher is the one, but with Peterson and Wholbert from Wisconsin right around that weight one of those two could win that spot... 74 and 84 are locked in National Champion contenders 97 somehow Walter's needs to wrestle to his height coming in as a top 20 recruit he was terrible this year and heavyweight they got big dude from California that was ranked the number to heavyweight last year with the heavyweights in the room he should be wrestling up the speed quickly.... I see Cooper Hilton or Mendoza filling in for Raguson and Sement should find the lineup and Botero was a highly ranked recruit but definitely had a bad freshman campaign.. they should finally get help at 1:25 with Henry Aslikyan coming in as a highly ranked recruit and they also have Blake Crosby who is a four-time Michigan State Champions stud from Dundee who would be right around the 65 lb weight class but Michigan will definitely be tough for the next few years

I wouldn’t count Gilcher out. Peterson needs some time imo I think Michigans lineup looks like this:

125: Portal guy

133: Gage Botero

141: Moses Mendoza

149: Kellen Wolbert

157: Cam Catrabone

165: Dylan Gilcher

174: Beau Man

184: Brock Man

197: Hayden Walters/Portal

285: Portal guy who will place top 4

This was a cool website I happened upon another board. It looks like Stanford was the biggest overperformer and Iowa State was the biggest underperformer.

https://www.matsavant.com/ncaa_live.html

Iowa State?  Elam was a major underperformer (apparently injured) and maybe Dean, but outside of that most guys finished close to their seed including a few above it.

Poulin seeded 13th finished R16

Grice seeded 28th finished R16

Echemendia seeded 4th finished 6th

Frost seeded 16th finished R12

Zerban seeded 12th finished 1-2

Euton seeded 17th finished 1-2

Gaitan seeded 11th finished 8th

Dean seeded 13th finished 0-2

Elam seeded 2nd finished 1-2

Bastida seeded 1st finished 2nd

I don’t see how anyone was worse than Cornell

Fererra seeded 11th finished 1-2

Cornella seeded 6th finished R12

Joy seeded 2nd finished R12

Shapiro seeded 3rd finished 8th

Ruiz seeded 2nd finished R12

They have the BIG Merrill brother coming in.

It was Justin's choice to go 197, so being unhappy and transferring so he can eat is not a real narrative. But, I don't disagree with the idea of him getting to 235ish and cutting back down to 97kg for international.

Looking forward to hearing your source on Merrill going to Oregon State. He has been committed to ISU for a while, however they do have a bit of log jam there with NQ Herrera coming off of redshirt for next year.

There's no way Sergio Lemley won't be in the lineup he's going to be one of our best three guys next year I see him at 49 and you don't think the heavyweight we recruited last year who was a top 15 recruit will start next year... also somehow they got to find a way to get Eren Sement into the lineup he's a real tough Pennsylvania guy and a top 30 recruit he's slated for 41-49 though maybe they'll have him go and red shirt Mendoza

Not sure why I got Oregon State and ISU confused. BIG Merrill is going to ISU. My apologies.

The amount of muscle mass he must have lost to make 197 impacted him pretty dramatically, IMO.

It had to be a tough choice for Rademacher as I could understand the thought of going down to 197 vs. wrestling 285, but considering his results against McDanel in folk at 197 and in freestyle at 97KG, I wonder if he will come to the same conclusion that he is at his best at 225-230.
