Democratizing Bribery

I am always amused that when someone disagrees with an opinion, rather than producing an intelligent, reasoned response, they dust off a 2010 meme to try to sound cool. -
Senior Pan-American Championships (May 8-11)

Where do you see good matches in the finals? There looks to be noly two Cubans entered and the only other challenger I can see is Austion Gomez who may be able to beat Jame Green. 10 Golds by the US seems likely. -
My day was late 70's, early 80's. I did wrestle a lot of Sr level FS in the early 90s. I just do low impact stuff like BJJ now that I'm an old geezer. Thanks for actually pointing the rich boys from my day. Was Kirk Pendleton any relation to the Pendleton who won a couple titles at OSU?

So now we know why he has a poor opinion of Fox. His mother reads, or listens to it. mspart -
How far back was back in your day @Boring? Lehigh didn't give scholarships until late 80s for a couple years and then 90s on. The Lieberman brothers had money (70s both NCAA champs). Kirk Pendleton had a lot of money (60s NCAA champ)

So what amount could someone give that would not be corruption. If lobbyists are verboten, why would a representative listen to anyone. I wouldn't be able to lobby my rep, because that is corruption. I think you need to think through this a little more. Our system is not perfect but your system does not appear to be an improvement. mspart -
Exactly. In that same year, they could’ve been on scholarship training at that same RTC instead of giving up their senior year of high school and paying for housing on their own.

I consider bribery aka lobbying to be "legalized bribery." I've said that a few times. So yah, I'd say our elections are legal but still corrupt as all hell, or at least what happens as a result of the bs lobbying is corrupt. -

I didn't know any rich kids. And what's with the whole, "Buddy routine?" There are plenty of toons around here to, "Buddy."
-
I believe you, but don't most their kids get scholarships?
-
Lots of Blair kids come from money

Buddy, I can't name one single rich kid who was a great wrestler from MY day. If that's such a stupid comment, NAME ONE and prove me wrong.

I tell my mom to look at something like reuters. I tell her that the more boring and non-emotion provoking it is, the more objective it is likely to be. I think she's addicted to fox, due to the excitement associated with it. -

I'm no fan of T-Rump nor the rest... But this is more of what I was referring too, "It astonishes me such a tough wrestler comes from such a privileged background." But who f'ing cares really. Folks believe what they believe...

Andrassy Retires After 22 Seasons as Kent State's Head Coach
InterMat Staff posted an article in MAC
This afternoon, the Kent State athletic department announced that longtime head coach Jim Andrassy will step down and retire from his post as head coach of the Golden Flashes wrestling team. Andrassy, a Kent State alum, has led the program since the 2003-04 season and was an assistant coach for the nine years prior. During his tenure as head coach, Andrassy amassed a 203-197 career dual record. Under his direction, seven Golden Flash wrestlers combined to earn NCAA All-American honors on 12 occasions. Andrassy’s first All-American’s in 2009 (Nic Bedelyon and Jermail Porter) snapped a 23-year All-American-less drought at the school. In 2011, 197 lber Dustin Kilgore pinned Oklahoma State’s Clayton Foster to become the program’s first national champion. Two years later, Kilgore became the program’s first three-time All-American. Three years after that, Ian Miller also became a three-time All-American. As a team, Kent State finished atop the MAC or tied for a share of the regular season title on three occasions. At the MAC Championships, the Golden Flashes finished as conference runner-up seven times. Kent State will conduct a national search for Andrassy’s successor. The team is coming off a 1-15 dual season and was 11th at the MAC Championships with 43 points. -
Forrest has traveled to Oklahoma State's RTC for a while now. They train at Young Guns quite a bit, have outsiders come train at the Compound/McCourt. They trained at Iowa's RTC before the US Open. Bassett was training at NLWC quite a bit but that's tailed off since he committed. I think the real question is if these kids ever actually go to school

I'm actually very healthy and close to my fiance, kids and extended family. A couple of them (my mom and one brother) are wingers but we have boundaries. If she starts repeating what she heard on fox news, then I educate her on the truth. The brother is only a slight winger so not passionate about it anyway. Kids, fiance, fiances kids and rest of extended family are moderate like myself or else liberal. -

McKenna, Green, and Snyder are the only ones from the old guard (I know its only panams) but USA wrestling is in good hands with these yungins coming through -
And yet there's only one person continually bringing up politics on a wrestling board....
