Iowa adds yet another transfer (4th of this season)
Alces Alces Gigas replied to Jimmy Cinnabon's topic in College Wrestling
Some street racers buy fast cars. Some build fast cars. Both own fast cars and both can win. -
If Dake loses at the US Open he can go to WTT at 79kg (or 92kg if he really wants to go crazy)

Uk Supreme Court ruling - what is a woman?
JimmySpeaks replied to Caveira's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
Yep Dems know that the wokester wingers love to die on the sword for things that make them feel warm and fuzzy. It’s all about a “cause”. The future of the party is all about it which doesn’t bode well for 26 or 28. As a follower and believer of woke preachings you might want to teach your party what organically means. -

I actually agree. This was a dumb thing for Democrats to fight against. Like always, they got out-strategized by the wingers. -

2025 Transfer Portal
Winners Circle replied to Indiana-Hawk-Wrestling-Fan's topic in College Wrestling
I think he's a victim of the coaching staff's he's had tbh. I think he could have AA'd under different circumstances. Could be wrong though. You know him far better than I do. -

Both counties are making a big deal out of it for political gain. They're "saving girls." -

All that graph shows is a growing number of people identifying as transgender. Not sexual assaults by transgenders. I can guarantee you one thing; that the # of sexual assaults by transgenders will never even be within an order of magnitude of the # of sexual assaults by cis males. Not even two orders of magnitude. In other words, it will never be remotely geometrically close, even if they are allowed to use the bathroom that they identify as (heaven forbid). I'm not saying that the court ruling was wrong. I'm good with people having to use the bathroom of or compete against the gender that they were born as. I just realize that this is NOT even close to a high priority issue for our society, given all the much more serious problems that we have. We have people that blatantly ignore all the sexual assaults by cis males and that want to take away the right of a woman to control her own body. Sexual assaults by transgenders isn't even close to the magnitude of problems that these two issues alone present. This is what's called a "DISTRACTION." This administration did it on purpose. Meanwhile, they are tanking the economy. -
Firstly I would like to say I always appreciate your posts. You are very knowledgeable and they are always interesting. Of course they are both unpopular sports, I just assumed GR having no female divisions AND being unpopular would push it over the edge. Also wrestling is the only combat sport to have multiple styles, and we have to most weight classes of any sport that has weight classes in the games. Tae Kwon Do has 8, Weightlifting has 10, Judo has 15, Boxing has 14 and we have 18. Your point about it surviving off legacy must be accurate. I wonder how much longer it can go.

Rumor has it that Kish and staff have been pulling some BS with these guys. NIL deals not followed through on, scholly's not followed through on. Wiley and McDougal both bailing because of some slimy stuff on Kish's part. Tate should go to UCO and try to AA IMO, he has not panned out. Great kid, but just not a D1 guy IMO.

Iowa adds yet another transfer (4th of this season)
Wildcat92 replied to Jimmy Cinnabon's topic in College Wrestling
Every program misses on some recruits. Some just don't pan out like everyone thought they would. It is the coach's job to put the best team on the mat that they possibly can. If that means dipping into portal to fill holes in the roster then they absolutely should. I don't care if it is Iowa, PSU or Ok St. These programs are not doing anything wrong. This is the game now and if you don't take advantage of the portal then you are not improving your roster. At the end of the day, results are what matters and is the difference between keeping or losing your job. A coach would be a fool not to use the portal to their advantage. -

House Settlement Hearing - April 7, 2025
Hilton Head Joe replied to Wrestleknownothing's topic in College Wrestling
What the heck is wrong with our leaders. Not talking about coaches or ADs but leadership at colleges and the NCAA and yes in DC. Nothing right about this. Raising tuition to unattainable levels and then this uncertainty for kids chasing their dreams. -

Iowa adds yet another transfer (4th of this season)

Solid line up. -
It’s a new week, but still plenty of movement on the transfer portal front. As we move closer to the May 2nd deadline for normal portal entry, I’d expect a few more entries. The recent movement favors Oklahoma who added three transfers within the past couple of days. They now have four transfers. Another new addition to our transfer list is the wrestlers from non-DI schools who are set to move to DI programs. Most notable is three-time DIII champion Massoma Endene who stays in Iowa and moves from Wartburg to the Hawkeyes. Last year, Endene appeared ready to transfer to Wisconsin, but changed his mind and headed back to Wartburg. Now, he’s slated to take over the 197 lb weight class from 2025 NCAA champion Stephen Buchanan. Arizona State has hit the JUCO ranks hard and added a pair of NJCAA national champion teammates from Clackamas. There’s a chance that both could start in 2025-26. The first list of wrestlers we’ve listed have already publicly committed to a new transfer destination. That new school is listed first, along with their projected weight, followed by their former school. Below them are notable wrestlers that have gone into the transfer portal. It is not a comprehensive list. Expect many updates to this feature in the coming weeks and months. Perhaps late in his career---he needs some break from cutting weight---seems like he is likely walking around close to 180---adding 6-8 pounds of muscle in the 8 months since the Olympics seems very doable.
