Agreed- I think some people think there will just be militia groups driving around getting into skirmishes and getting to use their cool toys they've been hoarding for so long... In reality, life would be miserable as you mentioned- gas shortages, electricity outages, food supplies would run dry, moving about freely through blockades, wrestling tournaments cancelled, family and friends divisions and infighting and guerilla war tactics bombing and destroying civilian infrastructure ... It would be an utter disaster and that's before you would have countries like Russia and china meddling to increase tensions and supplying weapons to either or both sides to watch America tear itself apart. For all those on the right that say "we have all the guns!" They don't think about all the other countries that would send in armaments to the left that Trump has pissed off over the years. To think we would have some linear civil war with a few areas of battle have it completely wrong and I for one never want to get that far down the rabbit hole.

There are so many different pathways of logic to go down than just "who would do that?" This is a type of linear and non-critical thinking prevalent amount conservatives that don't leave room for anything outside of the box that doesn't align with their own world view.

This may surprise you but I don't actually have stuff like that bookmarked nor do I care enough about anonymous message board posts to go peruse Grey's twitter or listen to post match press conferences to find examples; I typically see stuff like that (from any coach), roll my eyes, and move on. My point was just that Grey is whiny and complains a lot; and sometimes it's a bit hypocritical. You are obviously defensive, which you have every right to be - you're BigRedFan so he's your guy and you clearly have a bias here (we all do for our team of choice no shame in that) so there's no point in trying to argue cause even if I did provide examples I'm sure you would try to argue them down or justify it. Especially ending both posts w/ the passive aggressive "Thanks"; just doesn't feel like a conversation worth having so go ahead and declare "victory" over me or call me a name for failing to spend the rest of my day listening to a plethora of Mike Grey sound bites for examples. I don’t think I’d have (m)any of them with their stock significantly down since high school. You could only reasonably be referring to class of 2023 and 2024 recruits and most of those are stock up. I’d only really have Block as stock down, but he hasn’t wrestled much. What you classify as the main point is really beside the point. I just don’t see what you are saying about Iowa having a harder time recruiting. Iowa’s recruiting looks to be exactly where it’s always been under Brands. Over his entire tenure Iowa landed top 5 recruits at a rate of about 2 top 5 recruits every 5 years and he has never landed the #1 overall (Metcalf #2 behind Schlatter, Lee #2 behind Fix, Keuter #2 behind Shapiro, and Ferrari #2 behind Lilledahl). Missing out on Bassett, Miller, and the Raneys I am sure is disappointing, but even two of them would have been a high water mark for Brands’s recruiting. Brands recruiting in line with his historic average isn’t entirely bad news for the Hawkeyes because Iowa’s results have routinely exceeded his recruiting. Over the past 20 years many coaches have out recruited Brands but only one program has been able to consistently finish ahead of Iowa at NCAAs. The question at issue here is will getting these two recruits allow VT to pull ahead of Iowa at NCAAs? It’s possible, but somewhat unclear at this point. VT will need to find 5 AAs or 4 high AAs to be top 3 team at NCAAs and at this point those are almost entirely theoretical. Bassett is the only guy in the potential lineup that has beaten a wrestler that’s stood on the podium at NCAAs.

Jarvis Little, AppSt 133. was 11-2 last season as the backup. Won the Mountaineer Open and Newberry Open. Second at the AppSt Open (at 141). And third at the Wilkes Open and Battle at the Citadel.
