BB is very much epitomizes the prototypical Iowa recruit: tough, self-motivated, works his ass off. He'll get a lot of individualized attention from the coaches, but a lot of people have wondered if Iowa is falling behind on technique. It would be great if Brands could bring a technician on staff to really take BB's wrestling to the next level. Simply bullying opponents around will only get you so far these days. Imagine if they had someone like Nolf, JO, or Askren to fine tune their wrestlers' technique.

So the thread was about arresting a judge. The reason was because the judge assisted in the escape of a known illegal immigrant that was under arrest for abuse while under trial for said abuse. That is against the law. She should be arrested. That is the thread topic. mspart

@Caveira Is this where something something DS factors in? Or does it not fit our feelings? Or does the fact you had interjected him way early in this thread cancel it out? Just curious.

The tech fall criteria did not change when they went to a 2 point takedown. So it was harder to get a tech fall unless you could gut or lace your way into oblivion. mspart

hoping at least one of Dake or chance drops to 79kg. I think Dake can beat Zahid I just personally don't have a lot of confidence that Evan wick will bring home a medal. Welsh may be able to get down as well for a one-time weigh in. I am not going to lie If brooks does not go 92 I am not overly confident with our team this year. The future is bright but I think there is a chance we do not medal at 65,70,74,79,92,125 depending on who shows up.

How is two titles and one Hodge equivalent to Spencer Lee?

I would guess a combination of weights being top heavy, guys quitting mentally on the backside or guys getting fatigued and quitting in the match. Freestyle allows you to exploit momentary lapses in effort far more than folk does i.e. getting a lace or trap arm off a takedown.

Ikr? Why can't we go back to an era with 0-0 scores culminating in arbitrary ball grab/clinches. Matches are too quick and there's just too much damn scoring these days. Make it less exciting!!

The age curve in all weight cutting/combat sports seems to be kinder to the heavier athletes. GGG was an absolutely anomaly for that very reason. I am interested to see if we start to see a decline in Canelos performances bud seemed like maybe age was catching him against Madrimov but that could have just been how good Madrimov is. Lomachenko is a guy that I think wasted a lot of his prime because he did not turn pro until he was almost 30 and he is much lighter. I believe prior to volk beating lopez fighters 35 and older at 170 and under were something like 2-31 in title fights.

It's funny how when you read online, people are very defensive when you question these young guys getting held back in HS to get another year before college. In most cases they are going to be 19 their senior year, wrestling 14 year old freshman in some cases, because they are "both in high school." Then when they wrestle someone a year older in college, they lost because they are "still in high school," despite being in the same age group.

Curious how many were leg laces? I saw a few of them on highlight/recap videos. Get a leg lace going and the match is over.

Because freestyle is stupid.

It's funny. Wingers didn't have a huge problem w judges until they started ruling on trumps blatant violations of he law. Now, the judges must all be activists and/or corrupt. Just like the entire media and basically all scientists and people w PhDs. Instead of Trump simply being a bad guy that constantly lies they go with the grand conspiracy theory that basically ALL intellectual authorities that point out the obvious must be corrupt.

It's crazy how much of a toll wrestling takes on your body. Comparatively, top professional boxers have a much longer career span and are in their prime for a lot longer. Usyk and Terence Crawford are pushing 40; Canelo, Inoue, Teraji, Santiago and others are all around Dake's age and currently holding belts. They all cut weight, train, and peak for maybe 2-3 competitions per year, which is pretty similar to the way older Senior wrestlers load manage for 2-3 big tournaments. The Klitschkos, Lennox Lewis, Holyfield, Deontay Wilder were all in their prime and going toe-to-toe against top competition well into their 30s. I assume the big fight purses are a huge motivator and allows these top guys to actually focus 100% on their sport but it's wild that they're not unseated by younger talent like you see in wrestling and other sports.
