But slavery was common around the world at the time. In fact, slavery still exists in multiple countries to this very day. Something that should shock most people. Our Constitution is awesome. Not because it was written by old white guys, but because it was so well written. The problem is that current old white guys think it's a good idea to ignore/bypass the Constitution. Which it is not.
