Gable Steveson returns to college wrestling
oldschool replied to VakAttack's topic in College Wrestling
he got dropped from WWE due to lack of interest from fans. a combo of low charisma and many fans actively disliking him for his sexual assault charges. then he briefly tried the NFL but didn't make the team which isn't surprising given that he has no real proper football experience. -
2024 UWW Senior World Championships...
oldschool replied to D3 for LU's topic in International Wrestling
Does anyone know how David Taylor does against Kyle Snyder in the room? -
Our 2024 U20 vs U23 teams: 57 kg - Luke Lilledahl (4-0, gold medalist) vs Maxwell Gallagher (5th) 61 kg - Marcus Blaze (4-1, bronze medalist) vs Nik Bouzakis (DNP) 65 kg - Bo Bassett (4-1, bronze medalist) vs Joshua Saunders (DNP) 70 kg - PJ Duke (4-1, bronze medalist) vs John Wiley (DNP) 74 kg - LaDarion Lockett (4-1, silver medalist) vs Mitchell Mesenbrink (bronze) 79 kg - Zack Ryder (4-1, silver medalist) vs Patrick Kennedy (7th) 86 kg - Josh Barr (3-1, silver medalist) vs John Gunderson (10th) 92 kg - Connor Mirasola (3-2, 5th place) vs Jacob Cardenas (silver) 97 kg - Justin Rademacher (4-1, bronze medalist) vs Massoma Endene (7th) 125 kg - Ben Kueter (3-1, silver medalist) vs Lucas Stoddard (5th) I feel like our U20 team wins 57, 61, 65, 70, 86, and 125. U23 wins 74, 92. And a tossup for 79kg and 97kg.

Yeah; I feel like we didn't send as many of our top guys this year. Also increasing competition from abroad. I'm wondering if our U20 team would've beat our U23 team head-to-head this year?

2024 UWW Senior World Championships...
oldschool replied to D3 for LU's topic in International Wrestling
61kg Uguev vs Ono first round Bottom side is def tougher for Vito. Maybe Tuskaev in the quarters and should be a tough semi for him likely against the winner of Uguev vs Ono. 70kg Green has as good of a quarter draw as could be expected but will likely hit Ramazanov or Kudiev in the semis. 79kg Burroughs should have Nokhodi in the quarterfinals; maybe Kentchadze or Takahashi in the semis. 92kg Taylor vs Sadulaev first round And of course Ghasempour is on the same side so the top-side semi will be the finals in all but name. --- While I'm glad we'll get to see the Taylor vs Sadulaev matchup, this is once again proof that our sport at the highest levels has clown-level rules when it comes to seeding. I know UWW wants to promote their ranking series events, but these types of lopsided brackets are just laughable for any serious sporting organization. They need to add a "common sense" clause or something to the seeding criteria. -
All ivy league colleges share a no-merit-based scholarship policy. e.g., only needs-based. So no sports scholarships which is one reason they're not usually as competitive in sports. (unless something has changed in the past 15 years since I was there) Flipping aside, I think it's great that Taylor's able to bring so much great talent to OK State. Maybe with a few more years of these caliber recruiting classes, we'll see the PSU dominance start to level out?

this interview def makes it seem like he's going and excited to wrestle sadulaev
-
Hope he has a full recovery and we see him on the mat again soon. It was tough to see him injured in the olympic finals this year – you could tell he really didn't want to quit.
-
Looking forward to watching the replays of Blades vs Gross and Blades vs Fix. They're both missing from Flo at the moment.

SNYDER WITH THE PIN
-
nah he must've hit em where it really hurt.. went for his cigs
-
this musukaev vs aliyev match is entertaining af btw. mus never disappoints
-
they're very different circumstances. in 2016, taylor had lost the position to cox so he had a reason to be mad at cox's performance. whereas your made up beef between taylor and zain doesn't make any sense here anyhow, I agree I would've wanted to see more action from zain, but to say that he didn't try is way off base. amouzad's an excellent wrestler show just shut zain down.
-
taylor didn't say anything about zain. not sure what that poster is smoking edit: removed the link to taylor's twitter profile. didn't realize this platform embeds *his whole* profile & tweets lol
-
Azirpira vs Taz up on Mat C. Should be the olympic finals. something something UWW seeding bahhhh
-
Zain loses 0-8. Great showing by Amouzad. I really don't understand Zain's gameplan there. He spent 95% of the match pushing Amouzad away and not tying up. Looked like he was worried about Amouzad's underhook, but Zain's a scrappy handfighter. He didn't put himself into a position where he could take a single committed shot the entire match. That's partly due to Amouzad's great positioning, but what I found puzzling was why Zain would try to remain at arm's length that entire match. He kept pushing off and keeping his distance.

Blades' opponent looks like she might be seriously injured. Bringing out a stretcher. Hope her neck and spine are okay.
-
Snyder showing why he's a champion working his way back from a seemingly deep 0-4 at the break. Now up 8-4 w/ a minute left
-
Snyder down 0-4
-
WHOA Snyder just got tossed looks like feet-to-back. Incorrect score imo and challenge will get it sorted
-
Blades making quick work; gotta switch over to multiview for Snyder
-
Let's go Kennedy Blades!!
-
anyone wanna take a guess at which version of Musukaev we see today? 0 packs of cigs? 1 pack of cigs? 2 packs of cigs? constant chain smoking
-
Kadi vs Valiev up on Mat A next should be a good one
