The hard part is that he goes in a straight line directly out of bounds. Had he turned either direction to try to stay in or made any attempt other than a direct line out of bounds, he probably doesn't get called.

The sport is growing on the women's side and more HS sanctioning is great, but converting those athletes that just learned what a takedown and half-nelson are to Freestyle and collegiate wrestling is proving to be a tougher hurdle than many believed, in my opinion. I had an awesome first group of girls FSers last spring. 1 is going to continue wrestling in college. The qualification for our HS state folk tournament was considerably more competitive than its first year (last year). That being said, going from "I'm newly learning this." to "I'm gonna commit to doing this in college." is a much bigger gap than universities and colleges understand. It will come. It will be awesome. Until then, it is building.
