  1. What's his FB group titled? Also, with the "lifestyle" comments, are the OkState guys big drinkers or something? Askren posted a video where he said he can see some current OkState wrestlers wanting to leave if Taylor says no more partying, which "isn't what they signed up for".
  2. Exciting to see these names announced and confirms the insider info @Husker_Du and Basch received was accurate. I'm curious to see who the big guy coach is going to be. Any leaks out there?
  3. Fun fact: David Taylor is Stiebers lone loss in high school as a freshman (DT was a soph). Also, this isn't the "other OSU" but THE OSU. Don't believe it? Look at the .edu email addresses for all of the supposed "OSU" schools: Oklahoma State: @okstate.edu Oregon State: @oregonstate.edu Ohio State: @osu.edu I arrest my case.
  4. I'm following ya and agreed.
  5. Oh, I thought your comment about Lee running a company was in jest of Taylor's side hustles preventing him from taking the OkSt job, lol. While I don't think side hustles or ties to the area will really impact anyone's decision to leave, I do firmly believe their training and wrestling goals will. That's why I don't see anyone who's deeply in the midst of training for the Olympics jumping ship, it'd be way too much of a distraction / pain in the ass IMO.
  6. One of the funnier aspects to this whole thing is Cael Sanderson, who left Ames in what, 2009, still owns and operates multiple businesses in Ames. He even purchased 4 duplex properties there 5 years AFTER leaving Ames. https://www.amestrib.com/story/news/local/2014/03/14/ex-isu-wrestling-coach-sanderson/27291182007/ Hopefully this puts an end to everyone's dumb speculation that side hustles and owning property means you're tied somewhere for life.
  7. If Coleman were to stay, he'd have a lot more resolve than me. Plus, people are already butt-hurt about the decision, it's not going to be good for anyone to keep him in there. It'd be difficult to not cause a division in the locker room.
  8. Agreed, he has always been elite albeit he seems to have plateaued. Nothing better to overcome a plateau than to change things up a bit.
  9. Or a splash of PEDs mixed in...?
  10. I don't think there are any case files public to read, but if the actions reported did occur, I don't really blame anyone for disliking him. Gross and ***ducked** up regardless of if somebody said "yeah i'm down".
  11. Not to mention that Cael forced out Bobby Douglas, his mentor, in order to be promoted to Head Coach. Then up and left the program after that. How is that for loyal? Check out the 3 minute mark in this StaleMates video if you don't believe me.
  12. And Guerrero... And Esposito...
  13. Yeah, taxes and fees. But who the F knows, billionaires find plenty of tax loopholes.
  14. Pulling out my calculator... assuming taxes take up 3% of that, $50 milli per year to toss around assuming they've only got 1 billi invested.
  15. Agreed. Also, no way John Smith didn't bless this hire.
  16. Willie and Basch said it was a ridiculous amount. So much so that it'd be "irresponsible to refuse".
  17. Just realized DT would've got a $500k check for repeat gold medals. So, maybe over the long term, but this year it might be a wash.
  18. I just can't see them doing him that dirty. Coleman knew he was putting himself in the driver seat to be HC at one of the best programs in the country after 12 years at UNC. I don't think they guaranteed him anything other than a fair shot at the job. I also can't see them hiring anybody without John Smith's blessing. But, I could obviously be wrong and perhaps OkSt will screw one of their own over for a chance at another championship. Would need some input from the OkSt guys.
  19. But do we know there was a deal to lure him from UNC?
  20. Great question. It's obvious DT decided to turn the job down after consulting his inner circle (cael) before they sweetened the pot. I wonder if he got permission from the almighty Cael before accepting. The new persona non grata?
  21. And the starters only wrestle 15 matches a year. We needed a changeup in the sport.
  22. Poor cows. DT will be having some celebratory steaks tonight.
  23. I always chuckled at those comments stating he'll never leave cuz of cows, some businesses, and M2 which is still fairly new. As if some cows and smoothies are gonna stop him from taking the job of a lifetime.
  24. I've never been to state college, but one would think Oklahoma is a much better place to have a farm / livestock, right?
  25. Lol, was wondering the same. With talks of Levi redshirting this year for Facundo, is there any chance he leaves? I'm struggling to see any of the starters leaving.
