  1. Where are you getting information on their wrestle offs?
  2. Funny I have the same opinion on these two specific teams going into this season. I think both teams have a lot of potential but also a lot of question marks. Both teams have guys that didn't compete last year, moved up/down in weight, and/or it's their first year with the team. I'm excited to see Byrd back, I think he is a top 3 caliber wrestler. Also excited for Attasauov and Webster to take the mat. Additionally, I think the Braunagel brothers should definitely be in the All-American discussion for this year. As for this dual, I would think that Illinois would be the safer bet considering all the question marks OU has right now. Can Belton, Picklo, and Hill be healthy moving down a weight? Is Mosha fully healthy? Can Wiley and McDougald breakthrough and be consistent? Both of them have impressive wins with head-scratching losses. We also don't know what kind of shape/level Lorenzo and Parker are at since we didn't see them wrestle at all last year. Either way, I'm excited to see these teams in action this year!
  3. No bedlam in Stillwater? That's unfortunate
  4. Fair take. Trackwrestling weight certifications show Cael at 133, Tagen at 141, Young at 149, Teague at 157, and Fish at 157. I know those don't tell the whole story but it is consistent with what the official OK State roster shows. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. I hear that Cael and Tagen have pretty rough cuts, I'm assuming Fish would too. Curious to see what Taylor's approach is with those tough weight cuts.
  5. OK State potential matchups: 133: Hughes vs. Witcraft/McComas 141: Tagen vs. Hughes 149: Tagen vs. Young 157: Travis v. Fish 197: Surber vs. Merrill All of these really depend on who redshirts and what weight guys intend to go. I wouldn't be surprised if Travis goes down to 149 and challenges.
  6. Cody Merrill listed at 197 on Okie State's official roster. Does he get the nod over Surber??
  7. I'm not convinced that Fish can for sure beat Travis for the 157 spot. Either way, the cowboys would have a solid competitor at that weight.
  8. you're right, my bad
  9. Star going 197 probably
  10. I hear that Teemer is going 165 next year
  11. Lou Rosselli most likely
  12. I am not familiar with tOSU's situation but why hasn't Kharchla transferred? Was he injured this past year? I assumed Welsh beat him for the starting spot but I was always under the impression that Kharchla could start at almost any program.
  13. https://x.com/Seth_Duckworth/status/1780997409335586874 Carter Schubert transfers from Cal Baptist to Oklahoma. Projected to wrestle at 165lbs
  14. University of Oklahoma 2024-2025 lineup 125: Beric Jordan/Conrad Hendriksen (I think it is possible for Jordan to RS and Hendriksen to start again but I believe Jordan is still an upgrade) 133: Antonio Lorenzo (Ideally, Lorenzo could fit into the lineup at this weight. Not sure why he didn't wrestle last year despite being on the roster but he has quality wins against top guys throughout his career) 141: Mosha Schwartz (I'm genuinely not sure if he still has eligibility but I would have guessed he received a medical RS this past year. If not, then OU is in trouble at this weight) 149: Willie McDougald 157: John Wiley/Alex Braun (Wiley is slated as the starter per Wrestlestat, however, I believe Braun could start if OU does not decide to RS him) 165: Cael Carlson 174: Tate Picklo (I don't think Nijenhuis wins the starting job. Hopefully, Picklo can get back to his winning ways next season 184: Deanthony Parker (Not a very deep weight for the Sooners and Parker is likely the best option) 197: Stephen Buchanan 285: Josh Heindselman
  15. It would probably be a smart move to just rock with Hendrickson since he's proven to be serviceable. I do think Beric is better though.
  16. Beric Jordan for Oklahoma 125lbs
  17. could Askey end up in Nebraska? I know there have been talks of Taylor bumping down to 157 with Robb leaving but it could be a good fit. He would also be reunited with his former teammate, Caleb Smith.
  18. I think everyone is high on Buchanan because of his strong finish at the NCAA tournament. He majored Beard, beat Little, Sloan, and Cardenas. He looked much better at NCAAs than he did big 12s.
  19. I imagine Thompson eventually grows into 184. He came into this season weighing just as much as Plott. I wonder how close Thompson and Robb are in the room. I know Thompson beat Robb in high school when Robb was much bigger.
  20. Rumor has it that OSU wants Carroll to wrestle 197 and Merrill to wrestle heavyweight. I agree though, a 197 cut for Carroll looks and sounds like it would be a lot.
  21. I have Stephen Buchanan winning at 197 next year
  22. Really hope Hughes can make it down to 133 but he wrestled 141 all last season and he didn't look like a small 141. I imagine Jamison and Williams still beat Young for the starting spot at 141/149. Really excited to see if Carroll can make 197, he is wrestling 97kg over the summer.
  23. 125: Elijah Griffin over Ayala in round 1
