  1. Oh, I thought the guy was paying guys for each time FSU's (or Florida's?) QB was sacked. But I don't really remember the details of the case.
  2. Don't remember the details, but there's a Miami Football booster who caught a 20yr sentence in part for paying bounties on other team's players
  3. Fair take. When I originally posted the question, my gut feeling was that our Women's team had a better chance of bringing back more medals overall while the MFS team would bring back less hardware but more gold. But that's probably wrong.
  4. Thanks. On the livesteam it looked like his shoes had the New Balance logo on them!
  5. Details of the settlement have yet to be finalized, but it sounded like programs would be able to selectively pay athletes by sport. They'll use roster caps on all sports to keep a lid on expenses. One question (can of worms) will be the statutory definition of employee vs. contractor in the context of college sports, which category athletes fall under, and what the legal rights both players and athletic departments will have, from unionizing & collective bargaining, striking, at will employment, right to work, subcontracting, and more. @steamboat_charlie: couple of other threads here https://intermatwrestle.com/forums/topic/4680-ncaa-and-power-5-agree-to-allow-schools-to-pay-players/ https://intermatwrestle.com/forums/topic/4681-college-wrestling-is-cooked/
  6. What's Alirez walking around at these days? He looks bigger than I remember
  7. Lmao, "the ref!"
  8. 2 minutes Should we be angry or thankful that they're not livesteaming people eating their dinner?
  9. Are they doing the panel discussion before they start the second half of the card?
  10. What kind of shoes was Dunia wearing?
  11. Quick first match - over before folks got into the ballroom!
  12. Right. A federation could get stacked with transfer talent, but if Worlds was held every year for individual titles (with 1 rep per country) that would limit the # of switches. The current rules also only allow athletes to switch nationalities once at the Senior level, and I believe they cannot change allegiances if they've competed for their home country within the last 3 years.
  13. Who would have ever guessed that we might see a Cass vs. Starocci in college?
  14. You haven't fooled us, we know the difference between a new-forum TBar and an '82 Bordeaux, and our boy Hamms is the only one who spells asinine with a double S!
  15. Or maybe after a year in the wrestling room he heads into spring football practice in the best shape of his life (or maybe with a headwrap and limp, who knows), right before pay for play kicks in for Fall '25
  16. I think PK takes the starting spot over Gabe, as you suggested.
  17. Hard to imagine him coming back and competing cold 3 years from now. Maybe coaching. Maybe he'll be a real estate flipper. Maybe a literal flipper where he physically flips a house over, then does a backflip before renovating and selling it.
  18. Looks good, though I will be disappointed if Siebrecht sits.
  19. Fun to imagine Gable shoestring tackling Tua and leg lacing him down the field
  20. He took it higher.
  21. I kind of wouldn't mind seeing Olympic wrestling was held as a dual-style team event, like the World Cup, with Worlds happening every year for individual titles*. That way, countries could have rosters with multiple wrestlers competing at a weight or at multiple weights, and it might restore ten weight classes to the Olympics since it would be faster(?) with fewer medals overall. Dunno if it would help expand the sport globally, though. * or maybe flip it so that worlds are team events every year and the Olympics are individual tournaments, idk
  22. Next week! 6/4 at 9pm ET (matches to start around 9:45). Not sure where or if it will be streamed
  23. Between our WW and MFS, which team do you all think will bring back more medals vs. more gold?
