It'll be interesting to see how the 3TD affects scrambling and whether it results in more or less stalemates. Will it motivate guys to take risks and scramble through to a takedown, or will it be more hanging onto legs and waiting for a restart to not give up 3?
Ferrari: "Y'all see my family in the media, they say we reckless, they say we criminals, they say we perverts. We're fighting it like we in sudden victory in the national finals"
Pyles, flustered and unable to continue to the announcement, stares at the camera like a deer in headlights.
Ferrari: "Pat Minnow doesn't care about Black & Gold people."
Quick cut away to Askren off-set, standing in front of a fridge: "Uhhh yeah, tune in to the next FRL, bye"
I think he gets plenty of respect for his college career, which was outstanding. But unlike Taylor, Nickal, etc. he isn't really the type to toot his own horn (Nick Lee is another). Also a lot of folks may be holding off on the GOAT talk until they see Nolf's results in FS.
Taking some liberties and bumping some guys up or down a weight (it's roster management!), as I'm surely forgetting some Colorado kids. Bit of a drop in the middle but a season earlier, there would be Deakin and another Finesilver in the lineup.
125 Malik Heinselman (Ohio State)
133 Steevo Poulin (Northern Colorado)
141 Andrew Alirez (Northern Colorado)
149 Jesse Vasquez (Arizona State)
157 Daniel Cardenas (Stanford)
165 Isaias Estrada (North Carolina)
174 Murphy Menke (Oregon State)
184 Matt Finesilver (Michigan)
197 Isaiah Salazar (Minnesota)
285 Cohlton Schultz (Arizona State)
I mean, FRL is entertainment so glass houses and stones and such. The show is fine, I like hearing Askren and it's sorta funny that CP seems to be afraid of him and doesn't throw shade his way like he used to with Willie, Nomad, and Bratke.
Flo has been sh!tting on the online forums for years yet several of their staff read and post on them, and they use them as a free source of content. Pyles repeatedly states his disdain for those on the forums, yet has had countless takes over the years that were very obviously cribbed directly from message board users.
For a while, I thought he was in danger of HEW. The situation was not kind to him and you could see his mental struggles. Glad he made it through to the other side, no doubt as stronger, better person.
To be fair, Murin wrestled out of his natural weight for half his career, then plagued with injuries after Lugo graduated. Not making excuses for the guy, but I do think he's a better wrestler than what we see on paper.
At this point some of us are just wishing they could make it to a run, never mind the medium run. Everyone is too banged up (Spencer, Ayala, Siebrecht, Murin, Assad, Brands, Schriever, Kemerer, Clark, Marinelli, Eierman...)
