I honestly feel for the guy but he has to know people are watching , especially the young people who look up to him. The article also indicated he initially walked past the press crew coming off the mat then later came back to speak with them. Not a good look anywhere, especially in front of an international audience.

Just read a quick interview with Spencer after getting silver. He said he thought about removing it at the podium but didn’t. He then gave the medal to his sister. Seems very disgusted with himself for not getting after it like he intended.

He’s one of the best we have for our sport. Replace the dead wood and rejuvenate the sport with fresh young talent. The has-beens who most will never remember once gone have truly hurt the very sport they claim to love. More JB’s please.

Where the mind goes the body follows. This concept is applicable to us all but this nation seems to have perfected it. Read up on what role the mind plays in Japanese self defense techniques and other sports. They train both the mind and the body equally and the results speak for itself. -
Sorry I’m not buying it. No way this guy feels this way about our wrestlers. They are to be commended for making it this far and for representing our country no matter the results. Perhaps it’s just the ultimate troll post to get a reaction.

I have a very strong opinion about this but I’ll keep it short. Those in charge of sports in the United States don’t give a damn about men’s wrestling, and our wrestlers know it. To say otherwise is being dishonest. I’m willing to bet Japan values, respects and honors the sport at a higher level and their wrestlers know and feel it on and off the mat which motivates them to perform so well. JMO.

Have to admit I’m really gun shy to predict their results after what took place with their team mates. Very disappointed and feel for our wrestlers.
